I think I'm going for a bit of a monument...like in a crumbled city square...two crossbeams of metal welded together with the banner and the head hanging from them...this is also why I used basic sprue to make it, in order to have a metal beam looking material with defined edges of different sizes...hope that makes sense. Okay, I did some surgery on the green stuff around the head to trim it way down, haven't added anything over there yet. On the banner, I changed the green stuff from basic globs, and tried to go with hanging fabric. I ended up not liking this as much, simply because I wanted to incorporate the wood pole it's hanging on. After much gnashing of teeth...erm, okay, mostly me just wanting to punch something, I finally came up with making ropes to tie the wood pole to the cross at each end, looping around and holding the banner to the cross. So here's what it looks like atm. I'm going to link to a site with the picture, because I haven't managed shrinking the picture down to the correct size for the site, and I don't want to trod on the rules. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc42/Tekore/WIP3.jpg Tekore |

To resize pics in Photobucket, simply click the "edit" button (second from the left) over the picture in the Album. Then a new window opens and once again it's the second option from the left "resize". just chose the biggest option (website, email) and your pic will be resized enough to make the bearded midget happy ![]() The new pics look much better, but there is still one thing I'd like you to keep in mind. It's on the ammount of greenstuff you're using. Someone wise once said "make a blob just big enough for the work you are going to do, then take away half of it, then half again....and again. Now you have just a little too much" or something similar. The tiny amount you should use for making things like those ropes are ....well very tiny. GS is almost impossible to get rid of once it is appied, especially since one tries to sculpt at the same time. When you press it somewhere it will bulge out elsewhere. It's far better to use too little and then add some than to use to much and try to take some away. So...I'd like you to redo it again but this time use a very small amount of GS and have a piece of rope/wire (40K-scale) next to you while applying it. I think if you cut the GS with the knifeblade going parallell to the sprue, doing this on both sides, whats left on top would be enough. Sorry for being a pain and so hard to please

It's like you're personifying my conscience here. "Tekore, you know those ropes look like huge coils and don't fit the model" "Nah, it'll be fine, I worked on it for a long time, let me just check the forums." "Ahhhhhhh!" Tekore, who is by krikey going to have a good looking model at the end of the day. |

As she stands (and I hope properly resized): ![]() I went with wire on the banner side after finding the exact craft wire (who knew this existed?!?!) that gave the effect I was wanting. Did some basic painting so far, but nothing big or any detail. I've been a bit lazy, have to finish by Sunday, but I've been far too busy putting a picture of a pirate monkey(!) on my profile. looks pretty good so far, but if you have to chose between a picture of this size and using a link consider using a link next time. You can not really tell anything about details from this picture. The particular detail I am talking about is the thicker part of the daemon's hair... Could you post a close up please?
