Yeah, really, its just that simple! Though you need to be sure you don't use too big of a magnet, or it'll stick out no matter how hard you try; the wing isn't thick enough to recess that far away from the weapon mounts. I'd suggest looking online for a plate magnet that would fit the width of the weapon mounts, and be long enough to provide a good, steady grip for the weapons. And then mount it in the tines on the opposite side. My own set up for that is rather haphazard and ugly, and given a chance I'll be fixing it. I would suggest checking with Amazing Magnets as they've got a ton of different types of magnets, and might just have something perfect. |

Argh this is starting to sound very complicated! Do you know of any guides to doing such magical tricks? I know I've seen some where people have used a couple of magnets on one element (i.e. the body or the weapon) then just a metal strip on the other, that might be a way to go. I did actually start another thread asking where to buy magnets but you may have answered my question! Do they ship to the UK though? |

They should; I mean, they were willing to ship it to an overseas APO address where they have to fill out customs slips.....I'll check. And actually, you're right, a metal strip on the weapon would be much, much better.

WAIT! A metal strip on the Vulture! Place it on the weapon mount area, to the nearly exact size of the mounting area (1 1/8" x 1/8") and at most, you'll just have to sand down the resin a bit. Take a strip magnet, place it on top of the weapon itself, or several small square magnets, and you'll hang on there no problem! |

Hmmm...those might just work for ya! You might have to set up a couple of 'em...definately experiment with a couple of 'em beforehand to determine how many you'll need, if you do need more than one to hold the weapons up. Also, word of note: Pinning is a good idea for this model, it'll make life soooo much easier when everything decides to break. I didn't pin it right away..after it broke, I pinned it right up. I'm still working on painting mine, of course, but I will say, out of all the models I have, its my own personal favorite. |

That was the plan, a metal strip on one side, then two magnets at either end of it on the other. I might just try pinning it as it's helped me immensely lately while building some of my own Vanguard Veterans among other things - I can't believe I've been in the hobby 15 years but only bought a pin vice drill this year - I couldn't be without it now! |
