Themed Armies - Brain for hire

    Gree-tangs,

Well this is my first post as a new Librarium boy so here goes...

I've been in the hobby for about 12 years and have steadily moved more towards army theming, creating and mass conversions. Unfortunatly being a noob I have no pics to show off yet.

I'm here to offer my services to anyone having trouble theming an army/model or looking for an ideal bit to work with a conversion. I'm very familiar with the entire citidal range and often find the bitz that are needed hiding in unlikly spots.

While on this tho, I'm not a flash painter (never really get that far on a project before I'm distracted by something else shinny and new) but I find that the paint scheme, for me anyway, comes secondary to the conversion work when theming.

The only thing I have on the net as an example of my work is Cadaver Junkie's Imperial Fists Ironclad Dread, I know he's show it off on here somewhere but not sure how to find it.

If you like what you see and need some advice, let me know. Alays happy to lend my monkey hands to a task.

    TTFN

Dont listen to him! It was mine - All of it! All of it!!!

Heh. Yeah - you did a bloody good job. We should get cracking on the next one sometime, when I've got some spare cash to throw at it. Lucky we all hoard bits though, the last ironclad cost me like $50 all told, but has about $300 worth of kits in the thing.

Although, my next 'Fists project is those terminators, I should get onto that sometime soon methinks.

Hurry and post pics of your templars/wolves/iron hands mate! The guys here'll go frenzied over 'em.

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.

Hmm, havn't done much with Dark Eldar yet, is it a personal forcefield type thing or a vehicle upgrade?

I'm thinking its a personal wargear item for the Archon right? If so it depends on the base model your using. I'd see it as a cloak of some sort made from night/darkness/shadows. Have a look at the new Vampire Counts stuff like on the Von Carstines and Manfred. The cloaks are great and really alive.

Say you've got one of the metal Archons with the big face and hand, use green stuff to sculpt tendrils of the cloak whisping out from the archon and around his body more. Even get some Zombie hands and pin them to the cloak, then GS blend them into the cloak and have them look like they're guarding the archon from harm.

Personally I really dislike that Archon model, the female on looks so much better but them same rule applies. If it were me I'd go from scratch starting with a plastic eldar model and evil it up a hell of a lot, even mix in some of the plastic daemonette parts for a half-armored look.

Hope I've been of some help and not gone off track too much.

If you like my idea try it out and post some pics for me to see

    Cheers Oog

I did that once. I made a cloak out of green stuff. It was made to be entirely smooth with no folds in it whatesoever. I then painted it dark blue with lightning all over it. The idea being that it is some form of special cloak that absorbs energy and the lord wraps it around themselves to stop an attack.

How could I make every terminator different in an army? Just reposition the legs?
