Well with the realese of the new ogre models, i would use a bull ogre torso, and the 40k demon prince (im not sure if your doing fantasy or 40k) and put on big wings. Paint him up all rotten and boom its done.

I used the Cave Troll from the Lord of the Rings Minature games, added some green stuff to make him fatter and more diseased looking, and added Wyvern Wings to his back, the conversion was pretty successful and gave the daemon prince a very primal look.

If your a whizz with the craft knife, GS some sores, infectious scabs, extra folds of skin and other associated gross stuff to whatever free space you have on nurgle models. Even if you're not good with GS, nurgle models are great to practice your sculpting skills on as almost anything looks right.

for my nurgle Daemon Prince I did this; Took an Inquisitor Scarn figure (Inquisitor scale figures are ace for DP) and filed away the face so it looked like an empty cowl. I did a bit of modelling at the back, by adding some wings I made them look like they were bursting from his robe, then it was a simple matter of adding a Scythe to a inquisition handsprue hand, I made the scythe by using a force staff from the inqusition force weapon sprue, then I used a spiky piece from a friends bits box for the blade (I believe its from a dark eldar raider, but I'm uncertain sorry) The Wings were from the old Azazel model, and painting them white feathers gave me an interesting look with contrast between the rotting nurgle and the "pure" feathers. I initially experimented with making a robe for a skaven Vermin Lord out of PVA/Paint (50/50 mix) painted cloth but I wimped out and went for a DP. My advice would be to just check out the large scale inquisition figures, I had a rough aim in mind, which was the old epic mortarian figure, and once I saw the Scarn figure it all fell into place. Good luck! |

Yes, I had the same problem when I was working on my Daemon Prince. Even though mine was for Khorne and your's is nurgle, here is what I did: 1) I bought the standard 40K Daemon Prince (I hope you're doing 4K). 2) Used Greenstuff to position the head differently (since i Absolutely despise the posing that GWdid for that model) 3) Cut both arms at the joints, used JB Weld to put them back together (being careful and using a set of alligator clamps to hold them in the righosition while they dried) in the position i desired. 4) Cut the left leg in half and used JB Weld to position and hold it together, and again used the alligator clips (if you would like aof what I use, just tell me). 5) Did the same thing with the left foot. 6) Used green stuff to fill in the gaps and resculpt details lost with sawing. 7) Made an axe with samll alluminium rod, plasticard and greenstuff. Filed off the corners on rod connecting the waist to the torso, so that he was not turned to the left. And that is basically what I did. Yen I put it together, and yet have to paint it, but it looks good. Master_Aerethos | |
