Ok, this is my Converison Contest model from the Commander Conversion Contest at the LA Gamesday 05. Finally got the pics thing working. Looking either for advise or just to see what ya'll think of it. And if anyone has some cool ideas, that would be cool 2! This was made with 2 command squad sprues, 2 commander sprues, and a few random bitz from the warhammer empire sprues. Made a double sword, got a bunch of purity seals, and just placed them willy-nilly, and I feel that it worked. One thing I'm still working on or questioning is the wreath on the helmet. My origional idea was to go with a winged helmet, but the conversion contest did not supply knifes or many clippers. I'm trying to also find out whats a good way to classifly is sword? Because I'm an Ultramarine's player, I'm wondering if I could try to count him as a the champion with Honour blades, or just work in some cool rules like a master crafted power sword, or have it wielded differently so it can block or something. Comments please! Last edited by Jwave; April 25th, 2005 at 05:29.. |

I think its an awsome model and I can't wait to see it painted but the only thing that bugs me is the Purity Seals. 2 things: A) too many, my eyes keep going to the seals and not the actual model, but thats up to you. Fluff wise, Power weapons destroy any matter that they come into contact with, so BZZT, no more Purity SealsNow you can keep the models as is and I don't mind but you did say you wanted to know what we think! ;D Mike

Personally, it looks a bit too busy for my tatses. I like ornate armour but somehow it just looks wrong somehow - it may the dominance of the purity seal parchment which obscures the lines of the armour. I also agree with MiketehFox, about he purity seals on the blades as well as the sheer impracticality of them. As a nit pic the parchment of the purity seals are all blowing in different directions. If you are able to, then it would look great if you cut the parchment off and green stuffed new ones that are just the same but blown accross the armour the same direction as the cloak. Dont get me wrong, I love purity seals on minis though. Although I never seem to include as many as I meant to when I started. However, you have built a very good mini never the less from a wide range of interesting parts. It should look spiffy when its painted. Nice one! No offence meant by the, hopefully, constructive criticism ![]() Rich |

Personally i think the purity seal look ok, but i'd take them off the weapon. Also would it be possible to use some heat to bed the seals so the hang vertical, this may not be possible as they are already attatched. The only reason i say this is that, though they look good, the are at angles and make him look like a hedgehog. Nice model tho. |

A bit absurd. You have a clearly two-handed (if not four-handed) weapon AND a bolt pistol AND a shield. Too many things for one man to handle in my oppinion. And, man... purity seals on the blade? |

A bit too late to be labeling things absurd when we have 7 foot supermen in power armour spitting acid and breaking aliens in half with thier bare hands. The purity seals on the blade are a bit odd though.I'd move them to other parts of the model.
