I don't know how you are using it, so I can't tell you if you are using it wrong. Thought, when I got me my official GW pin vice, (I couldn't find one anywhere else), I noticed that the insert that held the bits was reversible and the ends were of differing size. So try reversing the insert that holds the bit, especially if you are using one of the smaller bits.

Yeah, some of the bits need a certain end so the pinvise and tighten properly.

Really, I never noticed that, now I'm gonna have to go home and play with my pin vice. Cool, you learn something new every day.

The GW pin vise, you can et the exact same one at Sears for half the price, has four different mandrels and will handle the finest bit you can find all the way up to 1/8". It's probably the tool I use most next to my hobby knife.

Could you tell us the link helotaxi? and also on the side note, what would you recommend for hacking of detailed parts of a model?
