Default Squad Sergeant Conversion

Not so much a conversion, but for my Chapter fluff I want to have my tactical squad sergeants with thunder hammers and storm bolters. Yes its alot of points but usually my tactical sqauds, have 3 or 4 in a normal game, varying between 6 and 10 man squads, they also got razorbacks or rhinos so they are mobile. I usually try to get them to the front lines for assault. So I don't think its much of a waste, the TH's will do good.

But what I'm asking is how can I create a good looking storm bolter? I don't have alot of experience with green stuff or modeling but I was thinkin of just sticking 2 bolters together, no idea how it would look yet, just an idea. And for the TH's, how would I get those? I've never seen a normal SM body with a TH, only termies have them usually. Any ideas are appreciated.

personally, if you're just goin to stick two bolters together, at least go the extra mile and like fill in the gap between the two

as for the thunderhammer, here's the closest i could come to getting ya a full thunderhammer:

or, you could just convert these to MAKE some thunderhammers:

Hate that they are so expensive, the first linked one is perfect, I mean at the most, I would only have 3-4 sergeants in my army. But any other ideas for storm bolters? I was hoping to find something like the storm bolter that came in the commander sprue, but I would also need the hand to fit with it, but I'm sure I could just use some spare arms I have.

The commander stormbolter, you say? the hand sits on the gun, so you dont have to do much conversionwork to put it on the arm.

Thanks alot guys, these might work, just wish they weren't so expensive, for 1 storm bolter its 4.99, its insane. Why you think I was askin how to make them from extra bits and stuff?

Maybe use this Storm Bolter instead? A lot cheaper and not any harder to convert really.

Hey, camel... thanks for that Storm bolter link. I may have to pick some up myself.

Now, for the absolute BEST Hammer out there, you have to go with the hammer from Inquisitor Lord Coteaz. It is supposed to be a Daemon Hammer, but it will work just fine for a Thunder hammer... and it is a better LOOKING hammer than the other Thunder Hammers. There is no arm attached, just a hand, so you can just pin it to whomever you want, regardless of whether they are in power armor or not.

Also, watch Ebay. I'm building an army myself that will have EVERY sarge & every model with the option armed with a Thunder Hammer... I may not always use them as that. Sometimes they'll be power weapons, sometimes CW weapons... Whatever... But I bould a converted squad of 10 Assault Marines on eBay... EVERY ONE was converted using a Thunder Hammer... Now, I have ALL the T-Hammers I'll need for my army, barring 3 or 4. I pais about $30 for the auction... and I still have all of the other bits to go with them (10 metal SM bodies, 10 Raptor backpacks, etc.).

Hope this Helps.

Eric

Looks like you've got the hanners pretty covered.

Storm bolters, you can use spare vehicle storm bolters, they're extra-beefy. You can actually only use half a vehicle stormbolter to make an over/under SB, just shave the barrels off and add two made out of metal or plastic tube, one right on top of the other. You'll have to fill in the half of the SB that's supposed to join to the other half though. Two normal bolters work okay too, you'll want to file flat the sides you are joining together (makes for much less filling), and then of course transplant a sight rail, or make it a flattop with a targetter.
