Default Chaplain on an Attack Bike

Hey guys, hows things?
I converted this here chaplain preaching from the side car of an Attack Bike because a) I thought it was a cool thing I hadn't seen before; and b) us crazy Order of the Shadowy Flame-ers are having us a bike-centric convertion/painting contest.

So, anyway, here he is:

Click the image to open in full size.

Parts wise, the chaplain is the bottom half of the chaplain with power fist, tthe top half of the jump-pack chaplain and various bits and pieces, plus GS to extend his height somewhat.
The bike is a standard attack bike, plus the fairling from the chaplain biker, plus the torso and a leg section from the metal venerable dread, plus the book from the Master of the Ravenwing, plus various bits and milliput and GS.

He will (hopefully) be all painted and finished by friday, for the competition deadline, so look out for that

Thoughts please guys?
-t.

One word - wow.

Can't wait to see it painted. Love the whole "read the book" thing. Also reminds me of the medieval-style chariots..

I really like it. LN is right, the first thought I had was of a chariot.

This would be an impressive model on the field. Would it use regular Bike Chaplain rules or have you developed rules for him?

Heh heh heh... That conversion is so totally barmy it is brilliant. It so 40K! You have done a good job there mate, its original and well constructed.

Some minor suggestions from me. It might look a bit better with a small backing piece for the side cart, or possibly something for the chaplain to hold on to in order to stop him falling off. If you are aiming for the Roman chariot look then you will obviously want to avoid this. The other thought is you could have some long purity seals streaming out over the bike - he is a chaplain after all.

Good conversion thought mate, those suggestions really are minor. Can't wait to see some pictures of this painted.

Cheers,
Rich.

I could totally see chains being wrapped around the Chaplain, and being attached to the bike... But I think they'd probably just end up making the model too crowded - it's near perfection as it is, there's no need to go the whole nine yards and make it completely perfect. Makes me feel bad enough...

Looks great. It's a well concieved and constructed conversion

now you just need to do a Techmarine version (a massive servo-arm on the sidecar)

Cheers very much everyone

Adrian, I'm not particulally intending to use him in any games, at least, not in the near future... Maybe when I have a decent number of Black Dragons painted, and possibly when I've done a small Tau army, maybe then I will get this guys chapter worked up enough to use as a real army.
I'm planning on making the entire high command of the Angels of Flame (his chapter) as a sort of divertion, to stop me getting too bored of whatever I'm working on. So, he will be the Master of Sanctity, then I will need Chief Librarian, Chapter Master, Chapter Champion, Chapter Standard Bearer etc etc.
I guess if I was to use him I would just use him as a biker-chaplain... Maybe add on an extra wound (for however many points the chaos equivilent costs) to represent the driver.

rp252, I tried a few streaming purity seals, but I didn't have enough to do it justice, and I am running a bit low on time to sculpt some new ones on (has to be all painted up on friday ).
I also tried out having a back section, but it didn't feel right really. I kinda imagine him zooming around the battle lines, preaching as the army advances, then crashing into the enemy lines and jumping off the back, fighting on foot for a bit, then mounting up again etc.

LN, thanks mate. I really like the chains idea, but a) time, b) lack of modelling chain, and c) 'fictional practicality' stop me from doing it...

mpdscott, cheers, and I'll think about it next time I get bored

I do ramble on, don't I?

Fantastic work there -T.
I can but agree with everybody else it looks amazing and you really caught the sprit of the 40K universe.
I found a thing today that you could use for the long purity-seals mentioned (a very good idea rp).
I guess there is an English word for it (you guys have words for everything) but I don't have a clue what it could be.
I found it twisted around a wire, the elecricity-wire fro connecting my CD-player to the socket in the wall. It's a stripe of plastic with a metalwire in. The metal wire is only visable from one side and can easily be covered by GS.
But then again, it's lready astunning piece- no use in making it look too good....
