Default Heavy Weapons Bionics-Help/Ideas?

Okay, Im doing a Mechanicus themed SM army and I wanted to convert the heavy weapons marines so that they were attached to thier weapons, bionically, like a gun servitor.

While just leaving off the right arm and slapping on the weapon would probably be the easiest to do and make them look just like a servitor, I was wondering if that was the best choice?

Another idea I had was to attach the weapon to thier arms at the elbows, like Terminators carry thier Assault Cannons or Heavy Flamers. I think this one might potentially be the coolest.

An even wackier idea was to have the weapon sticking out of the middle of thier chests and using the gunner arms off of the tank accessory sprues to hold them in fron of them. Should I even consider this?

I've been working with the Plasma Cannon recently, and it looks awkward attached to the shoulder and at the elbow. Any ideas on how to fix this? Should I try mounting it into his chest?

Thanks in advance for all comments!

I think it would look cool if you cut off the space marine wrist and only HALF the LOWER ARM. Glue the weapon onto the stub and use green stuff to mold skin or scar tissue around the crack where the weapon joins the model. It would look more realistic if they still had an elbow to bend with.

I personally would stay away from the whole - gun sticking out of the chest thing - I just can't see it looking anything but chaos-y, and as you say - replacing the arm with a weapon would make it look like a servitor. But then I've been wrong before.
I would say that the marine heavy weapon models dont leave that much room for movement. I agree with wingedgaunt03 - connected the weapon at the lower arm would look nice. I would suggest two things. First of all, have you thought about making some kind of weapon attached to the back pack type thing? I mean, the techmarine has so many things coming out of his back that perhaps making the weapon a bit smaller and connecting it to a metallic arm coming from his back might look cool.
My second suggestion could be used wherever you attach the weapon - wires! How better to show that the marines are mechanically connected with these weapons than to hae wires coming out of their heads (preferably unhelmetted for extract impact) and going into the weapon. You could do this with guitar string or just a little greenstuff.
That's what I'd consider at least.

Paint Monkey - Whoa, cool idea! I almost like the idea of a servo-arm coming up over their heads and holding the weapon in front of them. Thats a pretty good idea, though i dont exactly know how to execute it...yet. ^_^;;;

WingedGaunt06 - Yeah, thats kinda sorta what i had meant. I haven't loped the entire lower arm off, just about half of it. Again, its a bit awkward, but I think its worth another try. For normal marines to carry around heavy weapons like the terminators do is certainly an awesome idea at least.

Anyone else have any more ideas?

i would try get hold of some of the NECRON warrior or pariah arms and use those to convert - then have the whole servo harness thing - maybe from under the arm, so it comes out from the backpack and the weapon "rests on it" as opposed to being suspended over the shoulder, then just use GS to make wires and flesh "jacks" - targeting scopes onto the face and grafts etc.

nice idea, i was thinking about starting an AM army but i am currently working on something else entirely

Well, dispite cautions to the contrary, I went ahead and did the chest thing...I think it turned out pretty cool though... Take a look!

Of Course they look pretty gnarly, but that'll be fixed with greenstuff and sanding. Other than that, what do you guys think!?
