Default Juves with Frag grenades

I was having a flick through the rule book, and noticed that juves can select from the grenade list, and I was contemplating how viable this would be, as may have a campagin soon, so how viable do you think this would be:

2x juve: resperatior, frag grenades: 120

Get them to sneak/dash forward being un-threatining as they are juves who aren't shooting things, then once they can, toss the frags, if they hit, good, if they miss, they scatter, and due to the large template, might still hit

Another advantage to their low BS, is that there is no penalty on aiming for a point on ground (small target) as you would basicly be hoping for the 55~% good scater chance (ie: small enough that it hits, or it goes in the correct direction & hits) meaning that they can hide round corners and toss them, the same goes for throwing them into hard cover, the penalties don't matter, as you still have a chance to hit 'somthing' if you miss.

Also! if you use the 'round corners' thing, it could be posible to setup hidden overwatchers to shoot people who go after them to remove the threat, using them as a bait unit.

So! what do you think? plausable, or just silly.

(Note: I'm using ash waste nomads, thus resperaitors.)

The problem is that you want those grenades to actually hit something reliably.. They're a big fat investment and its worth giving them to someone with the ballistic skill to make their game effect noticable. Sure, you can hope for good scatter, but increasing your chance to hit is even better.

The round corners thing is interesting but it would rely so much on luck.. you're as likely to blow yourself up as the enemy in most cases.

Maybe I'm being too dogmatic, but to me Juves are there to ensure that your gang doesn't suffer costly casualties. Giving them anything beyond a knife and prayer is a luxury as far as I'm concerned, let alone something valuable like grenades.

I use juves for CC, as their one less WS isn't too big a deal if you charge... I'd never give them grenades, as I'd rather give them 2 CC weapons.

Pathetic range, chance of hitting myself or teammates and if you do roll a 6 to hit, you're automatically out of ammo - which means that juve is unarmed for the rest of the fight.

I think this is a good idea and i know somebody that has used this to effect but it starts to loose its magic later on in the campaign as people realise what your up to and shoot them

but i would say go for it

I see how the around corners thing could work,
not necesarily be "effective" but it could work
if you have to juves throwing grenades around corners and two autguns or sometihng behind them on overwatch,
it means oyur opponent has a pretty tough decision to make.
i might try this out (:
