As for peoples question as to if it's worth playing. Yes, Yes, Yes, it is definately the best game that GW has ever made in my opinion. I have collected every gang ( at least with my friends splitting the cost.) With no other GW game can you get as attached to your unit as you can with a necromunda gang. Personally I have played with the militia like Van Saar as well as Escher as my main gangs. It does't cost an arm anda leg to play since you only need a relatively small gang to play. It's definately fun to watch as all of your gangers who were down at the end of the game have to roll on a chart to see what happens to them. Sometimes they get better from learning sometimes they lose body parts and some times they outright die. Which is definately fun when your gangers start earning nicknames from you or other gangers. One of my favorite Escher gangers earned her nickname ole' one eyed Biaatch after taking out many gangers in HtH and refusing to die each gang....... course she lost an eye in the process........ In my opinion this is definately a game to look at.

I used to play Esher, but when I started to get out of Necromunda and converted most of the models into my sisters army. So shameful Still necromunda is a great game...shame I've ruined the models.

Shameful? They got a promotion I think, Now those lowly Escher gangers get to kick heritic ass across the galaxy instead of just in the underhive....

The only downside is with them becoming nuns, they don't put out any more...

Necromunda in my opinion is the best GW game ever made. It used to be #2 back in 40k 2nd edition. That was when they both used the same rules system. But once 3rd edition came out, and they changed and screwed up all the rules, Necromunda became my number one fave. However not many people have ever even heard of it. I first got introduced to it when I went to my local gaming store one weekend to play some 40k, and next to our gaming table, these two guys had this huge dioramma of a bombed out rubble filled city. It was so cool! the best gaming table I have seen to this day! So I talked to them and they told me about this great game called Necromunda. Well I decided to play a game with them, and I loved it! Everyone should try it!
What I really loved was the endless possibilites for conversions, because the way I played Necromunda, was what you see is what you get. If your Gang Leader want a power sword and bolt pistol, the model had to show it, or at least have a holster for a pistol. But I have never gotten into converting miniatures like I do with Necromunda.

And one of the best things about Necro, was the cheap startup cost. all you had to do was through down the $22.00 to buy a gang, or however much it was. and also have a copy of the rules. thats probably why GW discoed the game, was because after you spent $30 you never had to spend any more to play the game. And that TOTALLY goes against everything GW stands for now.

May the Light of the Emporer shine on you in death and in life.

Necromunda is a great game. Unfortuanatly everybody stopped playing when 3rd edition rules came out. If you know th old skool rules I suggest you get into it.

The great thing about the game is the possiblity for all kinds of things to happen. If you like to change things around and mix it up a bit by throwing in a gang of Genestealer Cultists or a Bike Gang. Its all possible. Their are rules for both of these available from the Gang Wars mag that used to be out. But you can find them on the net too i think.

Top game, cheap to play, really get attached to your gang.

For those of you that are interested, all the Necromunda you can handle will be released in the US throughout the month of March. Look for the rulebook the first week of March, shortly followed by new Orlock and Goliath models.

And the thing that's got me all fired up (literally!)... the Redeemer! Yes, that's right, the Redeemer is a special character for Necromunda, and they're putting out a model for him and everything. Look in White Dwarf 290 (March 2004 issue) for pics and more news.

Necromunda is a great game; it is loads of fun, and more importantly, doesn't take forever to set up and play. the amount of bloopers that can happen is simply unbelievable, from misfiring a grenade launcher and bringing the whole dome down to running down the stairs, slipping, and falling to serious injury.

The only problem I see is that in a campaign a gang usually leaves the pack quite soon and then the only viable opponents for it are arbites or genestealers. For example, in the campaign we are playing right now, after a few early victories, my gang's rating is over 2000, while the second gang is at around 1500, meaning that they will get slaughtered.
