First Attempt at an Army List.

So this is using the models I have at hand (except the Lychguard) so I'd be grateful if any alterations would still include these models, or variants of them

    HQ

Overlord - Warscythe, Ressurection Orb, Sempiternal Weave - 145
    Command Barge - tesla - 80
Cryptek - Harbinger of Despair, Veil of Darkness - 60 (tags along with lychguard)

    Troops

    9 Warriors - Ghost Ark - 232
    9 Warriors - 117
    5 Immortals - Tesla - 85

    Fast Attack

    5 Scarabs - 75

    Elites

    5 Lychguard - Warscythes - 200

    Total: 994.

My plan was basically, work the lord in CCB as a tankbuster. Walk the immortals and Warriors up with the Ghost Ark for cover. Send scarabs in to either soften up tanks/units, or at least stop anything bad from shooting at me 'till i get closer.

And the lychguard I planned to be kinda a tankbuster, though they gotta sit for a turn after deepstriking with VoD :/ Though I thought they'd make good backup for the lord should the CCB go down...

So I'm not sure on the Lychguard...

    Anyways, C&C is greatly appreciated...

I don't like the lychguard in a small army like this. 25% in 1 unit, that might mishap and die, or an lucky blast with ap3 blows them apart. I would suggest dropping the guard, and swiching the crypteck to a destruction with solar pulse. Give him to the squad in the ghost ark, and fly them around shooting tanks. For the 15 points, grab shacke on your overlord. If he falls off his barge, the shacke has saved his butt for me.

What about annilation barge. Cheap, destructive and can wreak transports because of lots o shots. Even if you don't have another, buy it if you can because you will use it. They are included in almost every army. Another 5 immortals would be nice because the five won't last very long if they get shot and can't stand up. Again, if you can get them.

The Overlord on the Command Barge is the best tank-buster you could ask for! Although if your opponents don't have any tanks (like Tyranids or Daemons) field the barge as an Annihilation Barge instead. Although I have to disagree with randomguy, they don't wreck transports, not usually anyway. The AP- means they usually just stop them firing or blow off a weapon, which transports don't really care about. The best you can usually hope for is a Stunned result, but it's really not the best use of your Annihilation Barge's firepower (unless there's nothing else to fire at!).

Drop the Lychguard entirely, they're too expensive and too easily killed (and it'll be painful watching a 200 point unit die to a bit of enemy shooting, or worse, take a couple of casualties and then run off )

Instead, I recommend using two or three of the Lychguard models as Necron Lords with Warscythes and Resurrection Orbs! Add one Lord to each of your infantry units, giving each unit a 4+ Reanimation Protocols roll and a Warscythe to at least give your guys a fighting chance against assaulting dreadnoughts and monstrous creatures.

I'd also highly advise that you get a couple of Harbingers of Destruction to gain some long range anti-tank fire and access to Solar Pulses. You can either buy some Cryptek models (if you've got endless piles of money) or make some out of warrior, deathmark and lychguard parts.

If you intend on using Scarabs a lot, you might want to invest in a Spyder as well, although they aren't necessary.

It's been mentioned above, but I just wanted to reiterate: lychguard with warscythes would be a very hard unit to play effectively. Sure, they hit hard, but they have no resilience and are extremely slow. Not exactly a good combination. And they're such a huge chunk of your army to be so ineffectual.

Usually, if people want to field lychguard, they give them shields (for the invulnerable save), the dispair.tek w/ veil to move around with, and a lord (or overlord) for the res orb and scythe. Lychguard do not do well on their own. They really need to be fully supported to be able to do their thing.

Now, at 1000 points, there are many more viable options: annihilation barges, wraiths, spyders to scarab farm. Just to name a few.

Decide if you really want to keep your lychguard. If you do, you have to really focus your entire army around them and you'll have a solid deathstar. If you don't, swap them out for something else and it's back to the drawing board.

So, at a thought, swap the lychguard out for wraiths, 3 wraiths with 3 whip coils comes to 135 ( I figured all 3 are better, because if they don't strike first, they stand a chance of being smushed despite the 3+ inv...) this leaves me with another 65 pts.

Thinking a Destructek with solar pulse for 55 going with warriors?

Leaving me 16 points left. Then is it worth spending 15 on particle casters for the wraiths? I would get another warrior, but it isn't really an option, as I'm out of warriors

    So new list:

    HQ

Overlord - Warscythe, Ressurection Orb, Sempiternal Weave - 145
    Command Barge - tesla - 80
Cryptek - Harbinger of Despair, Veil of Darkness - 60 (with Immortals)
Cryptek - Harbinger of destruction, solar pulse - 55 (with warriors)

    Troops

    9 Warriors - Ghost Ark - 232
    9 Warriors - 117
    5 Immortals - Tesla - 85

    Fast Attack

    5 Scarabs - 75

    3 Wraiths - 3 Whip Coils, 3 Particle Casters

    Total: 999.

Just remember that Wraiths can only get one of the three upgrade options per model.

use the remainder points plus the points you have left over from taking upgrades off the wraiths and please increase the size of your immortals, im sorry if people disagree but 5 models is not enough for anything, one casualty and you have to take a moral test, i recommend increasing to at least 7 strong (but thats just me)

And Whip Coils are pretty much mandatory on at least 3 or more of the Wraiths. Or they'll get a kicking from any half-decent unit.
