Well to the average player the tomb spider s great! U get a kewl unit that can create a scarab every turn. BUt the way I look at is a normal game is 6 turns ur gonna get 6 scarabs and u will most likely wound alot of them in the process tring to creat them. Then they have to stay in coheincey with the tomb spider not being able to move as fast and as useful. and in combat unless ur on tthe last turn ur only gonna have a couple scarabs. IMO 5 scarabs would be much more usefull whuts ur input?

well i dont use the tomb spyders for their ability to create scarabs, they are helpfull because they help with WBB and they are a good counter-assault unit that still hits Marines on a 4+.

Tomb Spyders is a good buy. They can hodl there own in clsoe combat. Never have them get shoot by lascannons though. They really help with the scarbs and extend the range of WWB. Get at least two I say.

Love Tomb Spyders. They're a unit I often take due to the lack of hth ability in my army. They serve to compensate for said lack as well as lending a particular sense of style to a Necron army. They're rather neat looking models and are always fun to take. Heh, they also tend to draw a goodly amount of fire. Not an huge amount, but just enough Anyway, 2 Tomb Spyders = winTimbo |

i agree with TheBigJake, the tomb spyder is not good because of its ability to create scarabs. its good because it helps out on the wbb rolls. it also is kinda good in cc, at least to counter charge with.

I will always keep pumping otu scarabs till i reach close combat. then i can take down some heavy units with the wounds the scarabs add. And a little sidenote here... Do you use the particle projector? I do but so far have never been able to test it as out of the 2 games ive used it, once it never got within 12" before we won. And the second was a freak accident where the Avatar and a squad of striking scorpions ran over my flayedones and advanced 11 inches right before theyir turn... So they charged my lord and the Tomb Spyder...

i never use the particle projecter. it's way to hard to hit anything with it. with its low bs and all. i belive the extra attack gained in cc for not using the PP is better.
