Veil of darkness- does it allow another WBB roll?

simple question, read above, can a veil of darkness be used to get yourself another well be back roll?

Veil of Darkness?

No.

Its only the Monolith's Power Matrix that gives the 2nd roll.

Page 21 of the Necron Codex.

Its in the last set of special rules on the Monolith. (Bottom of the page)

The Veil only gives the ability to teleport, not get up again.

Err, the VoD does not.

The VoD lets you deep strike about, it has nothing to do with WBB.

Grey is right about the monolith, but that has nothing to do with the VoD.

Btw, where's the Necron faq you guys are talking about?

Another question: can you use the monoliths teleport ability on the turn it arrives via deepstrike? So on the turn the monolith arrives, can you phase out a necron unit and have it re-appear through the portal? Or can you only do that in the turns after the monoliths appearance?

You can find the Necron FAQ (and all the other army FAQs) here. There was a Necron Eratta on the UK website, but I can't find a link to it anymore.

As for using the teleport ability the turn the Lith deepstrikes, I can't see why not, provided there is a unit that hasn't moved yet. Is there any specific rule that states models DSing do so at the end of the movement phase?

Thanks guys, your help is appreciated greatly. Just one last question: do rending weapons still work against the monolith? The rules dont seem to imply it, but I can remember reading something about genestealers being ideal for dealing with a monolith as the rending still works...what do you say to this?

Nope, Rending does not work.

Rending does not work, as it allows you to roll another dice (thus, living armour clearly says its not allowed).

rending allows you to roll an other dice, what about melta bombs ans chainfists? those do not rely on adding a dice when you get a specific roll, but come with 2 from the start allready. and if i recall corectly, living metal negated the roll of an ADDITIONAL dice (imo the special effect ).
any ruling here that i might consult?.

Just reread the entry, it's very clear about chain fists.

But a quick answer. Both do not work.

I have a question about VoD though, Can the lord use it without a unit?

Goj, do you know anywhere that is says rending does not work??? Because the manager of my store says rending does work.
