What exactly is a Necron Flying Circus? I have a rough idea of what it is and I just need some clarification

A flying circus refers to when you give a foot lord Veil of Darkness and usually a Res Orb with a unit of Immortals. This creates a very potent force of S5 AP4 guns on T5 mounts with WBB's against anything...that can hop around the board at their wim. It works best with 7 or more Immortals, 10 being the best. This is nigh unkillable and can dish out a bunch of firepower. It's one of the better tactics we have.

It works best when combined with a good sized destroyer squad appearing to attack another weak point and with a monolith teleporting in a warrior squad, too. Quick question- What targets are really worth the attention of 10 immortals?

Lots of things are worth their attention. Marine or CSM squads, Crisis and Stealth Suits, Large squads of horde armies, Tanks of all shapes and sizes, HQ's and their retinues, Terminators, Monstrous Creatures...pretty much anything except small squads of T3 models with 5+ or worse saves. And if your opponent is taking those types of models in small squads...then anything is overkill. A full flying circus can take almost anything. It's expemsive, but it works like a charm.

Hmmm, I knew that voding immortals was good, but now i have to make my lord a traditional lord to do this, maybe it'll be better for the records...:shifty:

What is CSM? I'm thinking 5 destroyers, 10 Immortals, Lord with VoD and Rez Orb, 30 Warriors, 1 Monolith, 3 Wraiths. 1396 pts. When I was constructing a warrior, the arm and gun wouldn't fit together, so i cut the arm and got rid of the hands on the gun. I glued the gun onto the base and had half an arm in one of the sockets. Then I'll add some wire to the other socket

i gotta say flying circus works great but make sure you are atleast 12" from enemys or table edges. ive had game where a lord and 5 immortals landed behind enemy lines about 10" from the side and i rolled double 6's, thats 350 point gone in a flash and it could be even more with a full squad. just be carefull and enjoy the inflicting mobile pain.

Yes it is very risky especially if you use a full squad of immortals. however it is my opinion that if both u and your opponent play a conservative game it will be long and boring. If one or both of you take risks the game is much more exciting. |
