    Expensive?

I'be been playing nids for a while, and want to start a new army in a little while.
I wanted an army that sort of contrasted nids. I've decided on Necrons, because they are primarily shooty.
    How expensive are they?
Nids can be expensive, because the TMC's are 45 each, 16 gaunts are 35, you know . . .its a lot.
Where would be a good, cheap starting place for Necrons?
Nids - 1150 pts (I'm poor, dont laugh)

    im too 'fexy

im too 'fexy for my carapace, too fexy for my carapace . . .

A lord with a res orb,

2 x the battle force. And you're good to go for a good while.

once you get used to your units and how to use them, you can consider more expensive options like Flayed ones, Immortals and heavy destroyers etc.

I reckon they're probably cheaper than nids. ALthough a good force of Immortals is still going to cost you a bit.

for reference, the purchases karmoon suggests will net you 1792pts if you give the lord a d-body and rez orb.

not a bad start to an army, with another few purchases, immortals, Flayed ones, or wraiths and youll be up to 2k easy

The points cost of necron units are fairly expensive, so that translates to cheap prices at lower points games. However when you start getting up to 1500-2000pts, depending on your army it can get expensive. I have 8 destroyers in my lists, and they sell for $30 here in Aus... so thats $240 just for 400pts of models. Destroyers and immortals are probly the most expensive, but once you have a descent number, you wont ever need to buy more (unless you wanna start looking at over 3500pts games). Necrons are very versatile and dont have much customisation, so once you buy something you'll almost always use it no matter what list you make. Just plan out your army and get advice before you buy anything. Dont go buying pariahs as they are expensive if you want to play a more shooty list ... stuff like that

I've got nearly 3K points, all of it for about 450ish, maybe... I forget the exact price, but it wasn't too bad, especially since I used call in order at 20% off with free shipping over 80 dollars or so. I also used eBay a bit, they've usually got some good deals on stuff; got a new Nightbringer for 20 (including S&H) So, yah, I'd say Necrons aren't too exrensive. @ Battleforeces would be a good place to start, like Karmoon said.

You shouldn't stop boasting. That's an awsome deal. I'm not sure of the dollar conversion, but that comes to about what? $150sih I think?

Flayed Ones are also a pretty good deal, be better if they made them troop and plastic, but that's a discussion in another topic.

I think gojiratoho did some awesome conversions with plastic warriors and flayed one claws. He did them in some really dynamic poses = pre jibbing the enemy.

They should be on the forum somewhere.

Speaking of which.. whatever happened to the necron legends of old like Gojira, The Outsider and the like?

Aah well, time is a mysterious thing. :hmm:
