Okay, first up, I feel I should apologise for this thread, as it's largely pointless and quite likely doesn't have an answer. But it's just... really... bugging me!
So I have to ask.
Backstory first; I'm planning some kind of conversion, which is still a long way off happening for the moment, but it will involve the Space Marine Rhino chassis and a reasonable amount of modification to the inside of the vehicle. I've been running things through my head, trying to work out if this conversion is indeed feasible, looking at some images of the Rhino's interior, when I came across an odd conundrum.
There's no room for an engine.
You have the passenger area in the rear. Up the front there is usually a hatch with a pintle mounted weapon (commander's hatch), and a second hatch beside that which I presume the driver sits under. Leaving no room for the engine.
I thought that maybe the engine could be situated along the sides of the vehicle, but it obviously can't go between the exhaust pipes because then you'd have to walk through the engine to get out!
The only option seems to be that there may be multiple engines right in the corners of the vehicle, but there's not a lot of room there and that solution just seems too complicated.
I know I'm trying to apply real-world logic to a fictional universe, and I know there are scale issues with GW products so things aren't always the size they should be... but it's just something I've got into my head and can't dislodge.
I'm just looking for anything anyone has that could suggest some form of solution to why a rhino needs four exhausts if it doesn't in fact have anything connected to the other end. Maybe there's some obscure info out there that actually answers my question.
Alternatively, I'm happy with people suggesting this is a stupid question which is wasting space on the forum.
