GW says that as long as 75% of the model is Games workshop then it will be tournament legal, as long as all the weapons are accounted for, and it looks orky enough, i have a load of converted truck rhinos, and i went to GT and they didnt give me any crap
GT is Grand Tournament, its the big Warhammer tourny
Yea i hated all the old truck models so i made my own, but remember in 5th edition everything is wysiwyg, so all upgrades that you buy have to be accounted for on the model
In tourney-play, I believe it is still the case, that if your custom-mod-job of a model is vastly different from the GW official model, your opponent can ask to drawn LOS/Range to the footprint of what the model SHOULD be. At the very least you need to discuss it beforehand with the Opp/RTT ect. In a tourney I ran last year, we had an ork player that had a "lowrider" type battlewagon that was literally hugging the ground and standard sized troops blocked LOS. I would argue that LOS could still be drawn to what would reasonably be considered the hull. Now that we have a BW kit that is X-inches high, it is easier to compare.
See, i was thinking that because we now DO have a model, if we have others that are smaller or bigger, that Judges will disallow them. (because, a landraider is in fact biggger then the battlewagon)
That won't be a problem. All the forgeworld Battlewagons and at least half of all custom Battlewagons out there are significantly larger than the standard Ork Battlewagon. In general, 'larger' is usually not a problem, especially with the Orks, where almost nothing has 'exact' specifications.
honestly I think there's a lot of leniancy allowed when it comes to orks, since we're expected to scratch build our vehicles most of the time. (One of the armies main attractions, I think.) I'll still be using my Leman Russ, but then again I don't live near a GW store or go to GT's.
Yay!!! This is cos my battlewagon is actually BIGGER than a Land Raider!! (More of a target ey...lol)... But it is better because its front hull is wider, thus more shots will be counted against the front armour of 14....lol..
I don't like the new model, it looks like a train!!!
it is a train... the Green Pain-train. choochoo! Yah, most people wont really have a problem with a bigger model as they will get LOS easier. Its a formerly big model that is kitbashed into a small frame to hide better that is unfair.
that is indeed true, because bigger does not mean better when your having a lascannon that can see you due to your big azz battlewagon (my battlewagon is called the GorkMobile)
