So I have been tinkering with my Chosen unit.

What do you guys think is better for an outflanking Chosen unit.
The unit is equipped with 2x Flamers and 2x Power weapons, and its main roll in my force is to outflank and un-score enemy objectives.

So what Icon do you think would work best for them? This is for an all comers tourney list.
I am thinking Slanesh or Khorn...

Thats a tough one, but i think it realy depends on what your list is better against. If you have an elite killer list, take khorne for horde killing. If you have lots of blast templates, take slanesh so you can get your strikes in first

I'd go for khorne. Chosen of Chaos wquipped with flamers are already an assault unit, IoK would put them in a much better position for taking out larger, tougher units, and even against a lot of things, without sustaining any casualties. The only time I can see IoS being any use to you is if you're assaulting a high initiative unit equipped with two or 3 power weapons.

It'd be nice to know how large the unit actually is, to make a better judgement.

hhhmmm... I would say give the MoS a try with these guys. it would be a different situation if they had fists but with the power weapons you'll be striking before average marines and clearing out a good amount of models before being hit back, even if they charge you.

I like being able to strike first and reduce the amount of return attacks. If I had a fist in the unit I think an IoK would do well.
I have Power fists in my berserkers and Plague marines, so I shouldn’t need more in my Chosen, I also didn’t want to dump too many points into them.
On a side note, I watched a unit of berserkers get stuck with a wraithlord for an entire game because they didn’t have a power fist, I went home that night and built a new Skull champion with a fist, I never want to be in that situation.

I'll be playing a smaller game tomorrow, and I'll test out the IoS and see how I like it.

Yea but there are not alot of units that have higher I than marines. If you want them to survive better, nurgle is better. Higher I means little if you face alot of units with less I. Should you end up striking second, Nurgle or khorne is better. Either you put out enough atatcks to make up for your losses, or the unit just shrugs off the attacks. Unless you are attacked by something S6 or higher, in which case it probably also has a Higher I.

That is the point. With marines being the most common army out there having a higher I than them is very beneficial.

If you want them to survive better, nurgle is better.
A Nurgle icon also costs more than twice what a slaanesh icon costs.

True, if you are fighting I3 or less opponents the icon of Slaanesh might not be as useful but considering that a lot of HQs and elites for those type of armies will tend to have I4 you are still striking before them. Also marines are far and away the most commonly played army in the game.
