Hi, I do TK and after a game last night i am VERY tempted to do a deamons of Tzeentch army.

He had this piece(s) of gear that allowed him to pull in a hell of a magic phase.
Here goes...

He allowed me to take first turn. He did not dispel any of my magic. Thus i was able to wound his GD, a herald and destroy 3 units of horrors.

His turn. Magic phase, about 10 power dice, plus 10 from his previous dispel pool, plus another 12 for the amount of spells i used last turn.

My turn. My bowmen lose 8 models from one unit and 6 from the other to crumbling, and everything else is gone. my bows finish his herald.

His turn. You can guess...

Now then, what was he using?
I know my next army.

Next time he tries this kind of bs with you ask him to show you the items he is using in the book(the army books are not secret documents). The Blue Scribes are a character that gives him a PD for every spell you cast. Did you cast 12 spells? Other than that there are no items that convert all his dispel dice into power dice.

This is the kind of player who gives Daemon players(and all gamers) a bad name. People already think Daemons are overpowered but when someone does something like this it just makes it worse.

Be cruel and make an anti his army list use it repeatedly and gloat and gloat and gloat and laugh cruelly:sinister::sinister::sinister::sinister::sinister: and then do it again. Daemons aren't unbeatable. By the sounds of the other posters it seems they would be happy to help. I don't play daemons but this is what I do when someone continuously uses a cheesy army and I asume it will work.

Well it definately sounds like he was using the Blue Scribes in his list. also if he was using power vortex combined with the Boon of Tzeench then that could generate a lot of dice. I personally hate people who make such lists, it is cheesy and against the spirit of the game, especially for casual play.

Ok, so Blue Scribes are nasty against lists like TK's or other spell heavy lists, be them big or small.

Him getting DD as PW for not using them was BS... Unless I'm missing something.

But magic lists are fun, I overheard people at my club saying that my lists aren't cheesy enough...?... So I made a list or 2 just for them. A 1000 point list to go against high elves. :freaked-out: It has 14 powerdice and 7 dispel dice. Then there's the 2000 point list to go against lizardmen. This one has 21 PD and 10 DD. I'm going to be slinging 10-15 spells a turn (Depending on how I roll and what spells my heralds get).

Daemons are fun because you can make specialised lists like magic or CC. Depending on what you like. It's not hard to get people to not want to play your lists. like... ^

First of Tomb Kings dont use power dice or any form of magic dice system all they have is a roll to see what level the incarnation is cast at as incarnations are treated as bound spells so you can not effectively use items, spells or anything to that effect that generates, steal or borrow power dice cause in effect they aren’t producing any

Second there's no way to 'save' dispel dice except an item one of the elves had at one point in time which i dont think they have any more

so the guy was quite likly lying through his teeth and didn’t know the incarnation system which a lot of players have a hard time getting their heads around unless you play them regularly/use them

Blue scribes were being used incorrectly.
1. Tomb King spells "are not cast" Tomb King spell are bound spells which are generated at the roll. This is a common mistake for demon players vs Tomb Kings.
2. Tomb Kings DO NOT generate the 2 base dice, their magic phase works completely differently then any other army, its in their army book.
3. lastly Xaiff~ your list is not valid please be more descriptive. Post your exact 2K list. "a crap ton" of horrors does not present a valid argument.
4. Demons do not have a way to "carry over" 10 dispel dice to power dice phase, please take note also of how many dice your opponents are using to cast IE a block of 10 horrors can only cast on 2 dice.

I know that TK spells are bound spells, but bound spells are still "cast". So unless I'm missing something, the Blue Scribes would still get dice for those.

All armies generate the 2 power dice just for being on the table. So, again, unless it says that your army does not generate any power dice at all, you still have the 2.

I'm sorry that I didn't put a list up, but I get 2 base, 4 from Kairos, and 3 from each Herald. leaving me at 15, so 3 level 2 wizards add 6 more, for 21 power dice total. With 2 units of 5 Flamers to pack a punch. I could drop a unit of flamers for even more power dice if I felt like it. But, what can I say? I'm a nice guy.
