This is just one main pic of my entire tomb kings stuff ... like said it's a WIP
(sorry guys who were looking forward to some finished pics of my Vamps... I needed money and had to sell em. but i can probably still a pic of the vampire with the bat wing that was actually finished.)
and this is my first time putting together and/or painting anything not on canvas...
and yes those scorpions tails are hand made... somehow my shipment lost them. and i'm impatient.

when i can get permission to upload an album onto here i'll start trying to take individual pics of things... if i can get my camera to not make fuzzies!!!
I like what you have done with the tomb scorpians pulling the chariots, Expensive but great idea. I look forward to seeing more shots of the army and Your vampire counts.
yeah i am hoping the scorps pulling the chariots will come out looking allright...
i plan on painting them to look like tyranid bugs, but painting a 'carapace' is something i'm working on, i want a light green 'film' look across thier back like folded scarab wings. any ideas?
i should have a pic uploaded soon of my counts stuff. it ain't much just a vamp lord with a wing, 10 ghouls, and 4 bat swarms. i already converted most of the skeletons to be Tk skelllies .
Edit: all in all thank you for the confidence, it's been slow getting them done but hey as long as they are painted eventually! lol
haha, i often do that aswell, im so into makeing one army that I use resources from others to add to it and when im done I realise that ive got barely anything left.
se you have base coated them all bone/cream how are you planning to make this bone washes? Drybrushing?
i dont think i'm going to actually do much more washing. i did a 1/1 balance of gryphonne sepia and water, and it didn't really show much against the bleached bone prime unless you look at them in your own hands. i think i'll likely do some dark brown or black inking of crevices as i've been shown on a couple other peoples undead models can turn out very nice for filling.
the highlighting is what's gonna throw me a curve. what's best to blend with bone white for highlighting over bleached bone? i was thinking a base looking grey?
as far as the weapons go on the skeleton units as you can see they are a yellow color... when i got the paint, i saw 'golden yellow' i for sure thought it would come out more golden less yellow. lol. so i got some shiny silver im going to drybrush over the yellow on the weapons that i've already done.
ishould have an updated pic of the army next weekend with a little bit more work done on them, mainly a prime coat of likely black on the remaining warriors i had just finished assembling when this pic was taken and some details to the heroes shown in front of the skatapult.
I really quick way of painting tomb kings is to undercoat them skull white paint the gold areas burnished gold, the red mechrite red the the silver chainmail etc. then wash the mini Non-watered down Devlin mud. then drybrush the bone 50/50 skull white-bleached bone and drybrush the gold and silver areas mithril silver.
if you want to have an experiment id try out that method on a single spare model, and remember dont dry the wash with a hair dryer because it will divert the washed normal movements into the recces.
well looks like i have a time constraint to finishing my army now since we apparently have a rtt on the 20th of june at my game store... and i would hate to be one of the guys i always hear about who shows up half brassed.
i'll get some more pictures uploaded by the end of this week and start doing weekly uploads of pics.
btw since my birds kept falling off my casket, i took them and planted em on my king models shoulders. so he drinks red bull now.
was going to take some more updated pictures today of
my ushabti,
tomb king
liche preists
catapult
BUT i left my camera over at my buds house where we clickin photos of his De and he's out of town in miami right now. and i go out of town til monday myself today. so by next wen. i should have something up for ya to peek at.
New Images added, shown up front and also added to the slideshow. yeah kinda blurry but my cam i think is damaged.
i know it's hard to see cause of the photo, but i took the birds off the casket cause they kept falling off and put them on my tomb kings shoulders like a mantle.
i'll try and retake the pics tomorrow and see if i can't photoshop em or something.

oh yeah lol... i couldn't seem to make the field goal posts stay on without the rest of it falling apart so i took the mummys off the posts and used them as braces and made it look like they are still strapped to the catapult itself.
thanks for the compliment mate! yeah basing is something i haven't learned at all yet.
i plan on doing a very dirt/sand looking mix from what i have talked to people about basing. the bases that are already bleached bone color are just that way cause i primed them on the base, all the models with unpainted bases i did basecoats by hand. but eventually, all will be based with some kind of terrain effect.
I also plan on putting the casket on a base of some kind so i can do something terrain for it too... we have green colored hills, so i was planning on making it look like the casket was.. rising out of the hill, with a broken earth look on the bases?
Nice the casket idea sounds awsome, and if your looking for somethiong to put it on, try out an old or blank cd or dvd disc, i use them for my large models and that.
sounds like a great idea... in fact i have a cradle of filth cd that is too scratched to listen to that would suit it perfectly.
