I have come up with the following list based upon what I like the most about Tomb Kings. It is my first attempt at making a list. I have read the beginners guide (even copied it to a Word document since I have limited internet here in Iraq). I can't play games right now to test and make changes due to being deployed so any further changes will be based on suggestion, then improvements after I play some when I get back to the States.
Tomb Prince (General) with Great Weapon, Light Armour, Shield, Collar of Shapesh
Liche Priest (Hierophant) with Cloak of the Dunes
Liche Priest with Staff of Ravening
Skeleton Warriors with Bows x19
Skeleton Warriors with Bows x20
Tomb Scorpion x2
Screaming Skull Catapult
I am up for changes. Also, I have a question. Since I am not using the Horsemen and Chariots (could change mind you) at this time, should I still get the battalion box or just buy separate models for now?
Personally i'd still buy the battalion. Chariots are awesome and if you plan on building this list up further you'll want to pick some up (or for variety). The horsemen aren''t so good but at 1k i use afew LH as a body guard for my mounted liche priest. Last game they worked very well at redirecting some tuskgor chariots (actually won combat by outnumbering and ran it down).
Your list looks pretty good however i would try to squeeze out some points to give your catapult skulls of the foe (that thing has won afew games on it's own at 1k for me by causing units to flee early) however i don't really see how you'd go about freeing up those points as the list looks fairly solid as it is. I'd build up the list and then play test when your back in the states, either way those units you have will get used when you push the list up to 2k so nothing is really wasted.

To free those points, delete the Collar of Shapesh In these low-point games, it will be a disaster for your opponent if the Curse hit a tough Unit - so, don't feel sorry if he dies as long as you can kill more popints
I'm new too, but your list looks pretty good to me.
As for the battalion box. It depends on how fast you plan on building your army. If you plan to stick with 1k for a while, skip the batt box, you aren't using half of it in that list you made. If you plan to move up to 2k pretty quickly though, get the box. You'll use the chariots for sure, if not the knights.
Alright, I got to thinking. I went through, and based on what I get in the Battalion Box, I did some changes that might work better in my army. I am always looking for more suggestions though, so please keep them coming. They are great and I would like to thank for the help so far. Tomb Prince (General) with Great Weapon, Light Armour, Shield Liche Priest (Hierophant) with Cloak of the Dunes Liche Priest Skeleton Warriors x19 with Bows and Light Armour (Putting the Tomb Prince in this unit. Only put the army on them because I couldn’t figure out anything else to spend points on) Skeleton Warriors x19 with Bows (Putting Naked Liche Priest here and setting this unit up closer to my SSC) Tomb Scorpion x1 Chariots x3 (Fit them in. Figured if I am getting the battalion box, I may as well use them since we are the only army I know of that can have units of chariots)
Screaming Skull Catapult with Skulls of the Foe (The chance to run things of the board easier does seem nice, like Outbreak said) There are my changes. I am not sure about the Light Armour. It just seems worthless to me. Not sure what else to do though.
I'd take out the light armor and give the lich priest the cloak of the dunes and field him solo near the SSC. With the cloak he can fly to other units that need help and avoid combat. If hes in the skellie unit and they get hit hard, he'll crumble with the rest of them.
cloak of the dunes is already used on his heirophant?
The list looks fine to me although i personally would mount the 2nd priest and put him in a small unit of light horsemen and give him staff of rav
Alright. Instead of trying to fit all I want in and sacrifice at 1000 points, I just increased and went to 1250 points instead. So now I have all I want, including the suggestions here, and it seems like a good start to just needing a bit more to hit 2000 or 2250 points.
Tomb Prince (General) with Great Weapon, Light Armour, Shield, and Collar of Shapesh
Liche Priest (Hierophant) with Cloak of the Dunes and Hieratic Jar
Liche Priest with Staff of Ravening (Putting with the SSC)
Skeleton Warriors x24 with Bows, Musician (Putting Prince here. Wish I could find 10 points and put a Champion also but)
Skeleton Warriors x25 with Bows
Tomb Scorpion
Tomb Scorpion
Chariots x3
Screaming Skull Catapult with Skulls of the Foe
total 1250 even
Casting: 5 Dice (3 incantations) and 1 Bound
Seems a bit better and then I can go 250 point chunks to get my next list up to 1500. after that, I think i will go another 250 points and then a 500 point chunk of army to reach tournament level points. then maybe push on to 3000 or 4000.
Tomb King, Tomb Guards or Carrions, Chariots, Tomb Swarms, Casket of Souls
