A constant problem for everyone in this fantastic hobby of ours is, which army and often the need to start another army when you really shouldn't. But is there an army you really want to start where only a small problem bothers you? Then this is the thread to tell everyone and to inspire others of this forum.
I'll go first.
If GW (or any other manufacturer make some decent plastic Witch Elf models, I will start a Hag Graef army.
If playing without Kroots and Vespids becomes viable, I'll start a Tau army.
I would Play Tomb Kings if they didn't suffer so much from lack of an update (Such as Dark Eldar, Chaos Dwarfs and Necrons.)
I will pick up a Dark Eldar army, but only at the end of 2010 when they get the new mini's/ Codex and no other way.
I would play Chaos Dwarfs (converting stuff from BFSP), they would be cheep money wise, but just for some reason deep down inside me, it doesn't feel right.
I would like to convert an entire army and have a them of a renegade tech priest who has an army of servitors, but like I said before, Necrons NEED an update.
I would like to convert an entire guard army to fit the theme of a privet militia of a fat and corrupted imperial noble who likes the taste of forbidden xenos foods and arts, but the thing is that vehicles cost a disgustingly amount of money (In Canada, the Chimera is like $42.00.) Plus I would order extra, cooler heads from Pig Iron before I could start converting.)
I would like to FINISH my Orks, but that would mean I would need to buy 6 Battle Wagons and then buy six of the upgrade spruces. That just their, not including the cost of paint and glue for all of that (an extra bits to make it look cooler) comes to about $490.50 (without tax.) With tax, Im guessing that comes to about $554.27 with tax.
I would like to convert an army of Mutants and use them with the nids rules, but I have to wait for them to come out first.
I would like to restart my Lost and the Damn Army, but they don't even exist.
I would like to start a Gean Stealer Cult army, but they too don't exist anymore.
If they released all the units in plastic I would start a Sisters of Battle army to go with my space Marine Company, Imperial Guard army and handful of Inquisition and Deathwatch.
I've been warming to metal models of late, but I agree that one of the biggest reasons I avoid Inquisition armies is the utter lack of ANY plastic models outside of the vehicles, and that's only the hulls!
That, and the fact that it is difficult to create more than one viable, competitive-yet-fun army out of the current codices without bringing in IG to help. I'd go with Dark Eldar if they had a codex worth playing. Ditto for many other GW armies outside of some of the newest ones, where the codices are MUCH more interesting.
I would start a Word Bearers army if I could make it actually a Word Bearers army rather than "generic chaos in red armour", oh I'd also start them if Necrons don't get an update within the next year and a bit.
If necrons do get an update within the next year and a bit, I'll gladly continue on with them rather than start something new!
I would start an eldar army but they strike me as the most expensive 40k army in terms of assembling a 1500 point army. I also need to finish my other armies too.
Get a drop pod, predator, and razorback for my Blood angels
Get zoans, trygons, hive guard, and a lot of spinegaunts for my nids
Get more flayed ones, 2 tomb spyders, 2 heavy destroyers and Deciever to round out my necrons
If i have enough money, and time i'll:
finally start a 40K army (Sisters of battle)
finally finish my wood elves
start another fantasy army (probably O&G, whats not to love about squabling green midgets? XD)
Would of said the same about Daemon Hunters..... except somehow I did.
If GW brought out a totally new army, I would start if it had some quirky and interesting rules that clearly seperate it from other armies, and it contained alot of originality and creativity. I just made myself LOL.
i dunno but i do understand what lewbot1 said, i walked into my local GW after an extensive time away, only to be horrified to overhear a conversation before a battle between two kids:
"There...that looks round about 1500pts"
I thought they were joking, then when one of the GW employee's piped up and said:
"What have i told you about making an army list and bringing it in like the rest of us? It tends to help."
That kind of scares me...
I don't mean to sound fickle and i apologize if i do, part of me thinks the "old days" were better
Not the making of the list, but the fact that this particular kid didn't make an army list in order to play the game, and its obvious he's been reminded to do so before, you cant really play without an army list its not impossible but highly frowned upon
Remind me never to cross you Mal *salutes* i have the codex, written army list, but no up to date rule book yet, please don't spite me!
