Hi, I'm a noob at playing overall and have just started playing

What I'm gonna be facing are mostly (chaos) space marines, but also some nids and orks

I made a list with some of the stuff I already have, what I dont have of what I have listed are the fire prisms, serpent, 1 vyper, 5 jetbikes.

1 farseer, runes of warding, runes of witnessing, spirit stones, doom, fortune, guide, mind war = 195pts
3 warlocks, 3 spears, 3 destructor = 114pts

9 DA's, exarch(2 avenger shuriken catapults), bladestorm, defend = 167pts
wave serpent, TL starcannons, shuriken cannon, star engines, spirit stones = 160pts

3 vypers, 3 starcannons, 3 shuriken cannons, 3 star engines, 3 holo-fields = 360pts

6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike,destructor,singing spear = 255pts

6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike,destructor,singing spear = 255pts

1 fire prism, shuriken cannons, spirit stones = 135pts

1 fire prism, shuriken cannons, spirit stones = 135pts

Total = 1716pts
Thinking of having TL'd scatterlaser instead on the serpent too

I may have done some calculations error also :<

Hey Dasher, welcome to LO. There are a couple logistics I'd like to go over with you, and also I'd like to refer you to the Forum Rules (in my signature).

When posting a list, please only post the costs of the full unit, costs of upgrades and basic models are not allowed.

Also, there is a specific Army List subforum for each faction, please make sure you post your lists there.

Thank You,

EDIT: Moving on to your list. You have plenty of anti-infantry/MC weaponry, however you are depressingly short on anti tank. Two prisms and a seer council won't be enough. I strongly suggest Bright Lances or Missile Launchers on your wave serpents so you can zap vehicles. Also, vypers are a bit light to be putting holofields on, I would put those on the Fire Prisms instead (if on anything at all).
Other than the lack of Anti-tank, I like the list, got many strong, standard elements, but also threw in a few things to mix it up (vypers).

Oh yeah sorry about that, wrote it down in a .txt file so it would be easy to calculate later on and forgot to take it away when copy&pasting it in here, sorry >:

Thanks for the tips by the way.

About the h2h thing, my thoughts was to kite whatever it is I'm killing around with my DA's and farseer, dooming and what not :)

Thanks for the answers

I'm not an eldar player but I am a regular eldar opponent, so I'll chip in my 2p.
1 farseer, runes of warding, runes of witnessing, spirit stones, doom, fortune, guide, mind war = 195pts
3 warlocks, 3 spears, 3 destructor = 114pts
I would be inclined to make one of those destructor warlocks into one that boosts WS and I. Always very handy :)
9 DA's, exarch(2 avenger shuriken catapults), bladestorm, defend = 167pts
wave serpent, TL starcannons, shuriken cannon, star engines, spirit stones = 160pts
I'd drop the cannon back down to catapults, as they are defensive weapons - which means you can move 12" and fire all of your guns.
3 vypers, 3 starcannons, 3 shuriken cannons, 3 star engines, 3 holo-fields = 360pts
These are very meh. Too easy to kill, so at the very least I'd drop the star engines to make them less of a point sink.
6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike,destructor,singing spear = 255pts
6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike,destructor,singing spear = 255pts
Not bad, although if you dropped one you could almost afford another WS full of Dire Avengers.
1 fire prism, shuriken cannons, spirit stones = 135pts
1 fire prism, shuriken cannons, spirit stones = 135pts
I don't think the spirit stones are really needed, but if you can get holofields for these (I can't remember off the top of my head) it'd be well worth it.

Overall a nice nippy army, just make sure you stay out of H2H else you will get merked.

Welcome to Eldar and welcome to LO.

First off, if you wish to be competetive in the world of Eldar in 5th edition, you must make this thread: http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/eldar/174633-mech-eldar-list-building.html your new bible.

I will say right off the bat some red flags I see in your list for a competitive build:

1. you need to make that farseer less expensive, by dropping runes of witnessing and 2 of his powers.
2. A foot warlock council that is not in a transport is a no no, find them a ride of get rid of them. For powers on foot, take embolden, enhance and fill with destructors as point allows.
3. drop defend, on their wave serpent dont ever take star cannons, take either BL, EML, or shuriken cannons. Dont take star engines unless you are playing reserve mech eldar, get rid of that hull mounted shuriken cannon if you are short on points.
4. if you are going to take vypers they either are equipped as follows or not taken at all. Take them all with 1 EML each only, or all with 1 shuriken cannon each. No more no less. or dont take them at all.
5. Give the jetbike warlocks conceal. you wont regret it.
6. Take your fire prisms naked. as in no upgrades.
7. Anything on foot needs a wave serpent to get a ride in.the wave serpent needs spirit stones as a minimum.

Good luck.

im not sure about this though but farseers negate perils on a 3+ which is taken before you do your 4++ inv save rolls.

So if you make your 3+ with ghost helm you do not have to take any more saves. if you fail then you get your inv saves.

One thing I have to say in response to eric's first post is that I ALWAYS take spirit stones on my Prisms. Its so few points and it gaurantees that you can a)shoot to cover and hide to return next turn or b) if the cannon is gone you can simply ran stuff or provide cover saves for other tanks. Also, competitive doesn't mean full mech, but you do need mobility. Fast troops, Serpents for short-range units, and the ability to reach out and touch high AV is a must. Everything else can be negotiated IMO.

I have modified my list quite alot after the tips I've gotten, and this is how it looks now:

1 farseer, runes of warding, SS, doom, fortune
3 warlocks, 3 spears, 1 destructor, 1 enhance, 1 embolden

10 DA's, exarch, dual shuricats, bladestorm,
wave serpent, TL bright lances, SS

10 howling banshee's, exarch, mirror swords, acrobatic
wave serpent, TL EML, SS

3 vypers, dual cannons on all 3

6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike, conceal, singing spear

6 jetbikes, 2 shuriken cannons, warlock with jetbike, conceal, singing spear

1 fire prism, SS

1 fire prism, SS

Total = 1743pts

Any thoughts?
