2250 Wood elves (mostly against VC and Lizzardmen)

Tried this army 2 times. Made a draw against VC and a marginal lost against Lizardmen.

This army worked really good against VC, only problem was a few bad moves from my side during turn 5-6 that made him able to charge and kill my General and my waywatchers.

Against Lizardmen i had big problems with his both Stegadons. One with priest and one with chief+spear thingy.

Been thinking of switching my wardancer hero with either a Wildrider on stag with killing blow spear. And add Gaemrath banner to the wildriders. Also might add another scroll caddy insted of wardancer hero, really did have some big problems with lizzie magic. But the moonstone on the wardancer worked like a charm against VC.

Any ideas and comments are welcome.

You really don't want this guy in combat, so I would drop the pendant. Get him a save of some kind. Either the amaranthine brooch or the glamourweave item.

Special is good, but you can drop the wardancer command if you need points for something else. Also can drop a warhawk if need be.

I think I would drop the treeman for a couple units of archers and a great eagle.
I really think you need a couple units of archers. You need the concentrated shooting to have any effect vs VC as you have to pop a whole unit at a time or they just come back. And the strength 4 shots are good vs saurus warriors. The treeman is a good anvil but doesn't pack enough of a punch to be that effective vs VC and stegs can hurt him.

It's been said before, but definitely warrants the repetition. If you kill the priest on the steg, the engine of the gods becomes unusable. An alter noble with annoyance of netlings has a decent chance of killing the priest in a single round round. Killing blow can also work well against the priest.

Avoid combat with blocks of saurus. They are slow, but tough and strong. I find it works better to just run circles around them.

SirKently's advice is solid as usual.

You are fighting 2 magic strong armies, I would rather have a Spellweaver with the wand of the wych elm as a general personally. The lore of beasts works wonders for me against lizardmen and the extra dd will help you slow down the tide of undead.

I love waywatchers, but a group of 10 can be hard to hide and get destroyed by magic very quickly. You can drop the group completely and bring 2 groups of 10 glade guard or drop 5 and take a group of 10 glade guard. Either way I think you need more to offer in the shooting phase.

Didnt wanna take away my treeman since he have done very good almost every game i have played him. Took away 3 WW and command on wardancers to get a unit of Glade guards. Also took away warhawks for a second unit of glade guards. Not sure about the last change tho. I have fielded Glade guards in previous armies, never got much out of them then, but i give it a chance.

You really don't want to ever have this guy in close combat. I would drop the annoyance of netlings. When I mentioned using it against a steg I should have mentioned that if he does not kill the priest the first round he will most likely die immediatly in your opponents next magic round from burning alignment. EGOTG priest hunting is more of a job for an alter noble than a highborn.
