Hey everyone,

So lately I have been working over an Adeptus Arbite Army List. I had a few requirments for the army. IE: Cheap (In the grand scheme of things, very fluffy, very convertable, and somewhat game competitive). I had considered using the one of mulitple online fandex floating around but.....I want a legal army, and I cant see spending that much money and time on something that I would never be able to use somewhat competitively.

I did more research, and found the AA substitute for IST and new that Witch Hunters were the list for me. Not to mention, being an old army, I still get war gear! :soldier:

So here's my list. I figure if i customize them all...(Green Stuff, Cadian Battleforce and another box of men, I should be able to pull it off for under $150 ). I know the list is rather tank limited, i'm aware of that and that's something that will have to be a weakness of mine. I tried to pop in as much tank killing gear to my units that was still fluffy, but a strong tank, seems to be able to rip me to shreds.

So now. The List.

Comments please!

You arn't supposed to post individual prices for wargear and upgrades (though i'm not sure it matters so much with the codex being freely available on the GW site)

The inquisitor lord needs a minimum retinue of 3 people. You could try crusaders - they fit with the power maul / suppression shield arbites and boost your inquisitor's WS to 5.
Probably worth taking a familiar with him too, and frags.

Retributors have a minimum squad size of 5.

Arcos or repentia can be taken as cyber-mastiff stand-ins.

My first instinct when thinking of an arbite force would be to take lots of small stormtrooper units and elite inquisitor/warrior units in repressors, and perhaps an allied SM scout unit as sharpshooters - though I understand that vehicles get expensive quickly and footzerging stormtroopers are far more vulnerable than sisters.

Game wise your list is most likely going to get annihilated, but arbites can be viable. The trick is just going to be keeping the price down.
If you can get some of the really banged up old $10 rhinos that pop up on ebay you'll get yourself both a more competitive force and a decent conversion/restoration project :p

Ah. Erm, well, fixed. Just in case.

Hmmm. I misread the rule for his retinue. Hmmmm how to fit them in...

Retributors have a minimum squad size of 5.
I will get on that today.

Arcos or repentia can be taken as cyber-mastiff stand-ins.
Yeah, that was my first plan for the repentia or instead a arcos unit, however I have no idea how I would find bits and models to create a full cyber mastiff unit.

Snipers, I agree with, it was just an issue of points, and i would rather have one very strong assassin as compared to 5 scouts. (Cheaper too on the $$$). As far as using only stormtroopers, they are the base statline for my men but I need to use the other types of sisters for my more fluffy units (the armor is simply an issue, i'm trying to find an excuse for. For example, my shock squad get the 3+ due to the large riot shields that the models would have.).

Yeah, I assumed I wouldnt be winning to many fights, but i think that will be due almost exclusively to the lack of tank killing. As far as the rhino's....hmmm.

I'm redoing the list. To be more fluff accurate, and to also fix any issues I see. I think i need to throw in some melta's...but that dosnt seem very realistic based on the fluff. Krak grenades from the launchers seem to be the hardest hitting thing I could give my Arbites.

As for the Heavy Weapons and Jump infantry, I know that the Arbites field units of heavy weapons, its been in a few of the book's i've read. Also, they have air ships...which drop down units. Thus the Jump Infantry. In this next list, i'm going to explain how i plan to make each unit, and why it fits the fluff.

Don't restrict yourself too much. Melta weaponry should be ok for Arbites. They can be considered a paramilitary force at the very least.

You could use Melta-guns as las-cutters (see Forgeworld Elysians) and melta-bombs as breaching charges

Army List is updated.

Killed the Repentia and halved my Seraphims. Traded that for a larger heavy weapons team, Cannoness, upgraded my Inquisitor Lord and got his retinue paid for. Bought a Melta-Gun and Grenades for everyone.

Thoughts?

You don't need to buy armour for the inquisitor lord - he has a 3+ save already.

You may also want to reconsider krak grenades on the sisters - as long as the squad is large enough you'll smash more vehicles with two S5 hits than a single S6 grenade each. Plus the points from the armour and grenades are enough to buy an evis.

Likewise i'd probably dump the kraks on the stormtroopers and perhaps split them into two smaller units for holding objectives - one moving forwards with meltas and the other holding back with grenade launchers (or the like).

If you can find the points get an evis on the seraphim too.

I guess you need to get it on the board at some point and just see how the different elements work for you.

I bought the armor to be both fluffy and to stop the stupid mixed armor dice roles. I dont want to role specific dice, just for him....although, at this scale it probably wouldnt hurt much.

Hmm. Ok. Ive ben debating the value of the grenades.

Not sure about this. But I will take a look at things.

Haha, yeah, just need to buy them and build them.
