I think thats 2499 points in total.
The idea is to use glade guard to weaken enemy with shooting and then finish them of with dryads and treekin, the tree men will use treesinging and root strangle attacks to help the glade guard.
First off a sad truth about Wood Elves at 2500, you cannot run the strongest possible list with an Ancient. Right now you will get run over by enemy Wizards and you will almost always be going against a Lvl3-4 at 2500. You have to run a Spellweaver, preferable with Wand of Wych Elm. It's one of the best anti-magic items in the game and Wood Elves need it. Sadly all three options for Lores are pretty horrible, I'd go with Life though. Beast can work but you have to build specifically for it, not easy with Elves.
Why does the BSB have a Steed? He can be on foot in a big block of GG. He also needs no armor, it won;t save him if he gets charged. I'd give him the Razor Standard, make one of the GG blocks really bite. He's not a good fighter, to squishy so just make him a force multiplier.
I'd drop one unit of GG and here's why, BS Shooting is bad in 8th. There are way to many ways to run up the penalties and they're very common. You will have a hard time moving both blocks to have clear LoS, especially with combat threats out in front. So just run one block with a Musician (Champion is wasted points) and take a hard look at the Flaming Banner. A lot of nasty monsters/units pack Regeneration, but a unit with the Razor Standard BSB and Flaming Attacks can do some real damage. I'd also cut back to maybe 20 guys, you don't want to Volley Fire as you'll be moving a lot. Run 10x2, put your characters in the unit on the sides for 1 rank of 12 and 1 of 10.
Dryads are awesome, in my experience the Nymph isn't worth it, just get another body. 12 is the best number but 14 works if you want a bit of wound buffering.
Treekin are where it's at for WE in 8th, a block of 6 is insanely mean. I'd bump both up to 6 with Champs if you can, they can steal some points by beating Heroes in a challenge. Works wonders on armies that spam those cheap ones like Empire.
Treeman, always awesome.
If you drop a GG unit (replace with Dryads to keep your Core up) and lower the other unit you should have some points. You can bump up the Treekin, grab another Treeman, grab some Eagles (war machines hurt WE badly) etc.
Cut a random GG or two if you have too, the characters will fill in the spots. Don't forget your Wizard has a bow too. In my opinion that looks a lot better, see if you like the 20 man block versus 2 10 man blocks. It comes down to play style, I prefer 20 man so the BSB is affecting all bows but it can be hard to move sometimes and a charge against it is VERY bad.
Looks pretty good. I would drop the champs in the treekin units. I would also get the banner of springtide for your archers. Drop a couple dryads if you have to.
Good luck,
SirKently
