my 2000 point Deathwing list

hey guys, i came up with a list for a 2000 point army for my deathwing for an upcoming tournament, and would like some feedback. For those who don't know me, i'm quite experienced with Deathwing now since i've been playing them for 2 years now.

Interogator Chaplain - Terminator Armour 145

Troops
x5 terminator squad - 2x LC, 1x TH&SH, 1x heavy flamer w/company banner and power fist, 1x Narthecium/lightning claws.

x5 terminator squad - 3x LC, 1x TH&SH, 1x heavy flamer and power fist.

x5 terminator squad - 5x power fist and storm bolters, 1x with Cyclone Missile Launcher

x5 terminator squad - 5x power fist and storm bolters, 1x with Cyclone Missile Launcher

x5terminator squad - 4x power fist and storm bolters, 1x power fist and assault cannon

Heavy Support
2x Land Raider Crusaders - 1x extra armour

The reason for having the 2 assault squads is so each squad will go into the LR, 1 squad with belial, (the one with the banner and apothecary) and chaplain in the other.

The main focus of this army is to be a threat in all stages of a turn. the land raiders will be a main threat, especially with the 2 assault squads inside, also with the new FAQ up, i am now able to get the 3+ invo save from SS, 2 shots from CML, and feel no pain from apothecaries. Basically, the land raiders will be a major threat, especially if i get 1st turn, rocking up 12' and popping smoke, ready to pour out terminators on my next go, and able to assault hopefully, whilst my tactical terminators are sitting back shooting at stuff. Not only this the LR do have a big punch with their weapons, since i have 2, my opponent must either have luck or bias dice to try and destroy both in a turn, but since first turn will have smoke, it will make it even harder for them to destroy it. Not only that, most players will particularly choose the relaxing terminators over the LR as they are a more probable target to attack. this makes it hard for my opponent to choose what to fire at, as i am a threat all round, unless of course he has luck or packs a few bias dice with him to a game.

If all goes to plan, turn 2 my turn will be the downfall of my opponent, since i will be able to launch an assault with my assault terminators, with a 6 inch move, and hopefully being in range of an enemy squad or vehicle, and since my LR's are able to shoot, i can move up as close as possible and rapid fire at threats or take out vehicles with my twin linked assault cannon and multi melta. as you can see, i am then able to unleash all my fire power on my opponent whilst hopefully being able to charge that turn, and wreck havoc.

What do you guys think?

It's not bad, though with most of your armour only having a 2+/5++ you'll be pretty vulnerable to low AP fire - Demolishers and Vindicators will give you trouble, as will any unit with massed plasma fire or power weapons or similar things.

What you need to do is get more TH/SS termies into there, roughly as many as you can. That'll really up your survivability.

in my opinion its not always about having a good armour save, and i understand the whole TH/SS, but my other terminators would either be in cover anways or out of sight most of the time, vindicators are fairly easy to kill with some luck, with an assault cannon from assault cannon,either way, the 2 years ive been playing my deathwing, i'm sure im used to plasmas by now

No issue here I would do the same thing. I would give Belial a TH/SS.

I would do 2 LC and 2 TH/SS here. Add in Belial you have 3 TH/SS which will you give you more place to allocate high str or low ap wounds to get your invuls.

I am just a sucker for 2 LC/2 TH/SS. Think of it this way too. 2/2 gives you a better range of targets. Plenty of attacks for infantry, and a little more punch if you have to run them up against a vehicle.

I have no issues here. If anything I would again throw 2 TH/SS guys in with each of them just for the fact of wound allocation

Sure, why not :D who doesnt like land raiders.

Anyway, good list. I dont know how many games you have played as Deathwing but they can be really good or really bad lol. I personally never leave home without a ravenwing unit but I am all about deep striking.

i understand what your saying, but the belial with TH/SS is a waste of 130 points, if im throwing away the highest initiative i have in my army. and if you noticed in my 2 assault squads, i have a heavy flamer in each along with a powerfist, so technically i still have 2 str8 terminators in there, though i'm thinking of turning it around, so its 2TT/SH, guy with flamer and powerfist, and 2 LC guys.

and mate, 2 years of playing deathwing is a lot of games, most of the games i won, however i have lost 1/3 of my games, only because of my bad luck. i used to play chaos before the new codex, when tzeentch had 2 wounds instead of the 4+ save, and i was very used to being outnumbered a lot so yea. also deepstriking isn't my thing, that also added towards the amount of losses i had, only because i ws shot down by plasma cannons. i have no problems with taking invo saves but sometimes its just not my day.

Dude, if you're gunna post a list and ask for feedback, don't turn around and ignore it all and justify if by telling us how awesome you are. You are by no means the only person with a couple years experience with this game on this forum. How many actual games have you played?

Now back to what you were saying TheDeathwing.

I would take 3 str8 at initiative 1 then see him miss a 5 up from a pf and die out right. But by your argument I would field him with LC. So you get the extra attack, re roll wounds, and save your initiative.

Also ask anyone what they think is scary and its Belial with a unit of bannered 3 attack FNP 2+/3+ terms

i beg your pardon? i haven't ignored any feedback, and i haven't been bragging about how awesome i am. perhaps you should mind your attitude.
