Just starting back after a hiatus, and want to try using a variant on the old tank rush. Basically, initiate cc with rhino squads, and support them with fast/infiltrating units. The big tanks primarily draw fire from the cc units. Comments?

drop the three attack bikes and take some points off of the assult marines or the chaplain and get a 3rd tactical squad of 8-10 men, always a good call
Maybe exchange one of your Troops for a CCW Vet Squad.
consider dropping the Heavy Weapon(s) from the TAC squads, this seem to be a rush/assault army. The more assault weapons or regular Bolters you have the better.
Consider changing the Attack Bike roles to tank hunters/HQ hunters instead of anti infantry.
a land speeder with a multi-melta will do better than an attack bike for tank hunting. with to remain pts start a small scout squad with snipers. they anoy any demons or avatars
No bike lovers out there, eh?
I really think bikes are amazing now. They're job is to attack heavy weapon units and to trap fleeing infantry(during or after an assault). Thus the anti-infantry weps. Maybe another rhino squad could do this better, or a devastator squad of my own to shoot at theirs. I have all the models, but never actually used the attack bikes like this. Most ppl will probably be using larger dev squads, so I don't know if 3 bikes can take a 10 devastators, but if they tie them up while my tanks advance that should be good enough.
A veterans squad is unquestionably better than tac squads for what i'm trying to do, but I don't want to be cheesy with low troop composition.
I primarily plan on playing vs. other marines. Will the list as it is be able to handle tanks? I have several power fists already.
Thanks for the feedback, it's really gotten me rethinking this force.
I've had GREAT results from my HB attack bikes. I'm rather sorry they lose their 2+ save, but now they make up for it with wounds, speed, and an Invulnerable save when they go fast!
One thing people forget about attack bikes is that they can be very handy in assault. They can tie up a shooty enemy unit (they are tough, good armor, 2 attacks each, 3 on the charge) or they can help out a CC that's not going well for another of your squads. Obviously, flanking fire is their specialty, and they really put a hurtin' on Nids, Tau, and IG! Not bad against marines, but it will take an extra turn or two of shooting to have the same effect on power armor. They perform better against light vehicles and speeders in that case.
Drop the HB in the Tac squad and give the Chaplain Melta bombs.
start by dropping the LC from the sgt... it might just be me but i never liked a LC on a sgt.... it just doesnt seem right to me ... put the power fist on him instead
drop the HB and take a melta gun instead of a flamer in that unit of tacts...against power armor flamer rarely does damage and the almost garunteed kill from the melta is a good thing to rely on just before you charge (plus anti tank weaponry)
if you are awfully concerned about tanks still... change the attack bikes into two units of 2-- one unit with HB's for what youd originally planned-- the other with multi meltas... im not a great bike fan but i guess this could work... other wise id say stick with your strategy of using them.... its great on paper and nothing can survive that many shots... especially if they just broke from combat (low numbers= less deaths you have to deal)
i think your list has potential to do well vs marines... alot of low AP weapons and power weapons.. maybe give the sgt from the assaults that lightning claw... it might be best to have a specificlly assaulting unit attacking all at the same ..but did that T hammer come out of fear of tanks?
being a fan of speedy armies...this one looks pretty good now... you have alot of anti tank/anti- tough guy weapons (hammers and fists) as well as some nice shooty death and CC ability.... you should do fine my friend vs those other marine players
keep us posted of any nice battles you play
