Well for me personally, I've recently got my hands on a copy of
halo, (And i'm still working on halo2) So I'll get right to the point.

I'm currently having trouble being outnumbered by covenant
and it seems like all the little buggers is want to throw plasma
gernades to take out my squad. Its quite effective and quite irksome.

Now. One question I had is how the f* do you deal with those
big spikey armour guys that when you shoot at them, nothing
will go through it seems like you have to shoot them in the back
or something.

What are your strategies, and how do you go about getting
around the guys that give you the most trouble. *Esp those
guys that are invisible with laser swords!

their is a simple way to kill the "big spikey dudes" their hunters, now what you do is get your trusty pistol out, (its the best weapon in the game) get close to one of the hunters and when they try to charge you,you sidestep, immediatly turn around and you will see a medium size orage area on the hunters back, shoot directly at that orange spot, one or two shots and their dead, if you cant do that, either snipe the orange spot on their backs or use something destructive such as a rocket launcher on them. Now the "little buggers" i assume are grutns best thing to do, is agian find a pistol and try to oneshot headshot them, or if thats to difficult just gun them down, if outnumbering you is a problem , throw some grenades of your own back. Always look for cover, and if your team dies don't worry i dont think their normally that helpfull, but the best advice i can give you is to master the pistol. now the key with the invisible guys w/ swords is to just gun them down from range, their swords normally give away their location, so if you can find something to hit them with from range they shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Good luck, and make sure you kill those covenant

Yeah, i was actually watching the halo screensaver and I saw that tactic
being used. I'm having difficulty with it.

With the grunts I've found a really good tactic, is that you can rush
them, and bash them with the butt of your rifle and they die.

Now I like my marines cause they help set up crossfire so I can
run around and do my buisness. I find it harder when you have
concentrated fire on master cheif and he dies easilier.

And I'm working on Expert...which is killer for Single players.
Whats the difference between expert and norm? It seems
impossible at sometimes.

Really the only way to keep the marines alive is to do all thier work for them. If they get anywhere near the enemy, they're gonna die. They just plain suck. Also try not to use to many grenades. Me and my brother have tossed grenades on the ground and watched, laughing,as marines casualy strolled ontop of them and where blow into the air. Appearently "don't ignore the active grenade rolling into your foot" is no longer a part of marine training. The main difference in expert is that there's more enemies and they all shoot better. the Floo on expert mode suck. There's hundreds of them, and they don't go down easy. The pistol really is the best weapion in the game. I got threogh the whole game using a shotgun for the flood and a pistol for everything else.

Halo 1 the pistal was the best weopon in the game....sniper mode, kills hunters in one shot, very powerful/accurate....in Halo 2 the pistal is prob the worst thing you can get stuck with :( it doesn't have the sniper mode, it can't shoot as fast, it doesn't kill hunters in one shot and it doesn't do near as much damage (N) If playing Halo 2 the best way to kill hunters is to charge with a sniper and hit them in the orange spot. Or battle them out with dual plasma rifes or dual assualt rifles. i

for me in halo 1 the hardest enemy was the Red elite (the gold ones always had swords and weren't really a threat)

For halo 2 the worst thing you come accross is jackels with beam rifles   on heroic and lengendary they are one hit kills (and who plays on anything less then lengendary?) and the jackels are GOOD shooters. I've had them hit me in the air, while zooming around in ghosts, the worst ones are when you turn a corner and before you see anything ZIIIPPP and your dead on the floor

Hunters are virtually armoured tanks with those big shooter things that usually wipe out my whole squad, but they have a huge weakness. between their armour you will see a red flesh, they have iot on the back as well. get your machine gun sorta thing and shoot their red flesh, after around 3/4 of a cartiage they should fall , but once in combat with you , you will die, huinters excel at close combat where they will smash your face in with their gun.

in halo one the most annoying enemy is all of the flood as they are simply monotonous and are hard to beat Halo two havn't played much on single player

in mission on halo one the best is pistol plus; assalt rifle aganst covies; shotgun w/ flood/ or sniper and missle to fight on big maps

I think in halo one, as wierd as it sounds was te special ops grunts with fule rod cannons... I'd never see them, and when I did I'd be dead (legendary and all)... the flood in Halo 1 didn't give me any problems as I went through the entire game on heroic without firing a single shot (used grenades at the end), you could beat every one down pretty easily... now in Halo 2 they have taken the effectiveness out of beating people especially the flood, I don't think I've actually beaten one down now that I think about it...

The best way to deal with the guys with the swords is to have your sniper rifle out, especially on the level where you beam up into the ship. Wait for them to show themselves and then headshot them. When I say wait for them to show themselves, wait for the door to open and for you to see the HUGE sword coming at you. Fire like mad and don't try to hit them with your gun. NOT GOOD.

One thing..

The pistol (Magnum) in Halo 2 is not the worst weapon, the Plasma Pistol is. And you shoot much, MUCH faster with the Magnum than with the pistol from Halo 1. Much. Up close and personal, two of these take out anything (bar Hunters, yeah..).

Hunters are quite easy. They are slow and have difficulty hitting you. If you have any room to sidestep, then you should never get hit. They're actually my favorite enemy - I like to side step and just melee their back over and over til they die.

Invisible Sword guys are pretty easy as well. Invisible guys, one, usually don't have shields. Much easier to take out than normal Elites. Plus the sword is visible...so the invisible part of their name is completely bogus now. Anything that shoots fast is good vs. them.

In Halo 1, vs. Hunters, if you don't want to play with them then just shoot the orange spot. With a pistol/sniper rifle, it will only take one shot. There is orange on their stomach, but the big shield is usually in the way (not always) - so, I'd recommend going for their back. Separating the pair isn't that hard to do, either, so you can play with one at a time.

My most hated enemy is the Jackal - I'm a fan of Human weapons, so I can hardly ever do squat against them. Thank Humanity for the pistol, so I can get in between the cracks in their shield.

Never, ever, underestimate the Plasma Pistol in Halo 1. It is deadly. The charged shot plus Melee/Fast Firing weapon is a sure one-hit wonder vs. Jackals and Elites. Plus, it's easier to melee with the PP.

I have to disagree with you on the plasma pistol in halo 2, its deadly, the best combo in the game is plasma pistol + battle rifle, you charge up the plasma pistol and take out the guys sheild, quickly switch weapons and then head shot them with the battle rifle and one hit kills, its extremely effective in multiplay and one of my favorite things to do

I've been finding with a powered shot from a plasma pistol it can take
all your sheilds... its quite annoying when you have five little bastards
running around you.

It's been a while since i've actuaaly posted... I'm just wondering, but has anyone noticed a slight difference in difficulty between Halo's Legendary and Halo 2's Legendary. I just started Halo on Legendary and have actually managed to get past the Pillar of autumn and i'm currently working on the truth and reconcilliation. But... i also own halo 2 and i havent even gotten close to finishing the first level on it (i'm stuck in the second boarding ship room, the dual-wielding elites are a pain in the ass). So has anyone else noticed a difference?

Yea Plasma pistol (especially in multiplayer) is a really good gun. I still vote the human pistol being the worst. Yea you can have dual pistols....but you can also have dual assault rifles which are 10 times better. The only time the plasma pistol isn't good is against brutes. For that you need 2 head shots (one to blow off their helmets) or give them a taste of the dual needlers (Y)
