Hi. Well im starting out , all i have is the rule book and as for marks im going for nurgle (in case of khorne players i'd rather collect high elves). i also would like to have three beast herds and atleast one unit of centigors. So any tips are always welcome. (except those that say "change to khorne")
Khorne= (N)
Nurgle= (Y)

Nurgle is a good choice. I would use at least 2 pestigor herds. take some plague barers and Nurglings, deamons supply a good hitting strength alongside the pestigors.

Centegors are good but you need two of them. I would even think of not useing them.

Get Minotaurs. Nergle ones get more wounds. and try out trolls, very nurgleesk.

if its a big army go for dragon orgres or a shagaroth.( not the right spelling so sry).

Hope that helps.

You can only have one marked bestigor unit, so 2 units of pestigors is out of the question... One is still fine, and an excellent choice at that. Be sure to outnumber your opponent, so start off with a unit of 23 (two boxes and command blisters).

Centigors are fine, and really fast. The only problem is they outspeed even beasts, and they do so very quickly. That means that at least some enemy ranged will be targeted at them, so having two units is probably a good idea.

Trolls are nice but minotaurs are better, especially nurgle ones. Trolls can dish out some decent damage, but the general HAS to babysit them or they will do nothing. And with a beast general's low leadership, good luck with that. I wouldn't risk taking them until you get a beastlord (2000 points) for the higher leadership, otherwise they're just to unreliable compared to the rest of you army. But yes, they do fit in quite nicely with a nurgle herd.

If you want, I can throw together a quick list for you. Or you could look at the other thread on this forum, titled Daemon Sheep O' Papa Nurgle. That might help a little bit as a base.

Uhh... couple things. One, you can't combine chaos armour and pelt of the dark young, as they're both magic armour. The exception to this is the enchanted shield, and if the item specifically says so. The pelt can be combined with mundane armour, which is heavy/light armour, not chaos armour. Also, you can only have one unit of pestigors, but I agree that this list needs some.

Also, Nurgle magic is in my opinion the best chaos lore there is, and you should take advantage of that. Also, two dispel scrolls and three dispell dice aren't going to save you for more than two turns unless you're playing against dwarfs. And how can you have too many minotaurs?

But, here's a new list with those suggestions:

1 Beastlord @ 240 Pts
Mark of Nurgle; General
Axes of Khorgor
Armour of Damnation

1 * Wargor @ 135 Pts
Mark of Nurgle; Great Weapon; Heavy Armour; Shield
Pelt of the Dark Young

22 Pestigors @ 356 Pts

1 Gouge-horn

11 Beast Herd (Gors) @ 151 Pts

1 Foe-Render
8 Ungors
Spear

SilentStorm is right, 3 dd is not enough.
You could also give 1 or 2 of the Wargors the Mark of Khorne for extra dispel dice. It wouldn't harm them.
Or change one of them back into a shaman, lvl1 w/ 2 scrolls or lvl2 w/ 1 scroll.

This isn't a good idea because to have a khorne character you have to have a unit of the same mark in the army. Your general would also have to be undevided to make anything have a mark besides undevided or nurgle.

Some tips for playing nurgle...

1. Dont take mages except for scrolls. The magic just isnt that good. On the other hand,the MoN gives our wargors extra defensive power which they sorley lack

2. Minotaurs are your friend. Nurgle has arguably the best minotaurs,indeed they are one of the best monsters in the game when equipped with light armour and great weapons. Even without the mark,minotaurs are a must for all beastmen army. Not taking them is like playing empire without great cannons or skaven without rattling guns.

3. Spawns arent that good imo,better things to spend your points on

4. Not a nurgle only tip,but never underestimate beast herds. They are amazing,they hit as hard as orcs,move as fast as elves,and are the most manueverable h2h infantry in the game bar none. Stick a wargor with GW in them and they can even take down harder units like dwarves or saurus.
