Hey, I was just wondering if you give a tmc two venom cannons, and it says they become twin linked, do you get 2 twin linked shots, or four twin linked shots?

If it's the first solution, I'll give my carni a venom cannon and a barbed strangler.

Thx :)

This has been beat to death on other forums. If you buy 2 venom cannons on a MC, you get one twin-linked venom cannon. Same with the other guns.

FYI: The monstrous sprue only has a VC and a BS. You will need to do some conversions if you want any other gun combos. :(

What I really want to know is can you equip a warrior with 2 deathspitters and get one twin-linked deathspitter out of it? It certainly sounds like it!

Unless the codex specifically says that a Warrior may be armed with only one shooting weapon, I don't see why not. Even in the old codex one could put two shooting weapons on a Warrior. It was just pointless because only one could be fired per turn. However, in the new codex having two of the same shooting weapons on a single creature makes them count as twin-linked, and twin-linked weapons count as a single weapon for the purpose of firing.

Ya, it's a little fuzzy.

3 relevant quotes from the dex:

p. 30 "A creature with two or more ranged bio-weapons may only choose to fire one of them per shooting phase unless it is an MC, in which case two weapons may be fired."
p. 30 "A Tyranid that carries two of the same ranged weapon symbiote counts them as twin-linked.
p. 37 "Warriors with two ranged weapon-symbiotes may only fire one per turn."

So if your two weapons behave as one twin-linked weapon, then you should be able to fire that one twin linked weapon with a warrior. Unless only being able to fire one means it no longer behaves as part of a twin-linked pair. Quite confusing!

Yes. And that has been done on other forums. Check dakkadakka, they go back and forth for like 6 pages. But I think GW will errata this one pretty quick. I mean, why would it cost X points for a VC, then the same amount of points for a second one as well as the twin-linked rule on two guns. They always make you pay for something extra in this game. But with the warriors, you ARE paying extra simply for adding twin-linked to an existing weapon. So maybe that one works...

so do you get 4 twin linked shots or 2 twin linked shots on a carni? You guys haven't answered it yet.

It seems like the general consensus is you get ONE TL weapon if you buy two of the same ones... sounds kinda expensive to get TL, but I guess GW is just trying to discourage people from having Twin VC Carni/HTs... maybe they were too powerful before?

I hope GW does the errata soon, as my bud and I often have debates over this one and can't come to a conclusion...

2 shots, and then a re-roll if you miss, per the rules of twin linked weapons...I believe
nope. If u give a tyrant 2 Venom Cannons then u get 1 shot but u may re-roll to hit ONCE if u miss. If u hit first time, then its a waste of the second cannon.

Why would you only get 1 shot, U'd get 3 shots with a tyrant and you reroll those that you miss

true, sorry. didnt take into account the assault factor. Typing faster than i'm thinking *feels silly*

To get TL capabilites, you double the weapon in question. Tau Broadsides have 2 Railguns, but it counts as 1 TL shot, Razorbacks are modeled with 2 Lascannon barrels on their turret, yet it counts as 1 TL shot. If you were to get 2 TL salvos from a Tyrant with VCs, you would need 4 VC equipped on it.

Buying 2 of any Tyranid ranged biomorph makes it TL and will take up both slots allocated for the creature. So Warriors with 2 ranged weapon biomorphs would count it as 1 TLed gun and be able to fire it. The only exception to this rule would seem to be the TL deathspitter and TL devourer listings for the Tyrant and Carnifex, since there is no way to twin-twin link something (though getting to reroll your misses twice would be tres nasty)
