EDIT: Apparently the site cant handle much traffic, havent had to host an image anywhere in a long time... so Ill find someplace else to put the pics later tonight.
Well since Im broke after going to Europe for a month and a half, I have come home and finally started working on all the new in box 40k models I have come to amass in my now two year long addiction to the game.
Fortunately I have so many models to assemble and paint, I should be busy well into next year. The first project I pulled from the dust was an on Imperial Guard Exterminator Tank kit, still in its shrink wrap. Since I started playing in the "new age" this was opening it was the first I had seen of the old vehicle accessory sprue.
Anyhow, after assembling the main body of the tank and wrestling with the treads (an inconvenience as always) it looked just like every other tank I have ever put together. I wanted this one to be different, its an Exterminator for crying out loud! All of a sudden I remember some Baal Predator bits I had left over, and after looking through boxes for about 20 minutes I found them!
Obviously a lot more stuff gets glued on the back of the tank, but I think I am going to paint it first. One side of the turret (the side without the gray square box) has a mount for the old vehicle accessory sprue's searchlight which I think looks pretty cool. I refuse to glue it on until I paint it though, because it would be a pain to paint it on the turret.
More to follow later as I add a few things, suggestions always welcome!
The new vehicle accessory sprues contain winged skull emblems and the Imperial Aquila if I recall correctly, as small plastic bits. You could file off the blood angel motif and glue in one of the Imperial ones.

I thought I had seen a big IG winged skull somewhere! Im going to check this out later, I know I have a couple of those sprues laying around...
Anarchist: I wish I could have a tank with assault cannons, but until then I want my Exterminator to exemplify a menacing hulk that can fire 14 slugs a turn and any unfortunate squad within 3 feet. I only play with friends for the most part anyway.
I dont see a problem using them officially though, who's to say they arent "Sauer Pattern Short Barreled Autocannons" ? You should all be familiar with the Cadian Sentinel autocannon, and its drum fed rounds, this works on the same principle, except instead of a drum rotating to feed multiple rounds into a single barrel, it has single feeds into multiple rotating barrels. Its science!

I agree that it shouldn't be a problem as long as your opponent is clear that it is representing an autocannon but I just couldn't help myself and had to point out that a drum fed gun and multi-barrel are not the same principle. In a drum fed gun the drum doesn’t rotate it is mostly hollow and used to hold more bullets then a box mag could hold. The only thing close to a rotating drum I can think of would be on a revolver but that is very different. A tommy gun is a good example of a drum fed gun. A multi-barrel rotating gun like a gatling is used for weapons with an extreme rate of fire 1500 to 6000 round per minute or more. This is so the barrels don't over heat. A single barrel at this rate of fire could easily overheat. Anyway, I love your conversion nice job.
Its about to get painted. I have left off the old style searchlight which will later be glued onto the bracket which you can see on the nearside of the turret/gun piece. I didnt put a guardsman coming out of the hatch because I plan to use the tank for my IG army and for my Space Wolves, it would have been a little awkward to have a marine or a guardsman poking out in the wrong army.
As for the Blood Angel emblem on the metal gun cover, I filed off the blood drop and left the wings. I took the winged skull piece from the new tank accessory sprue and carefully cut the plastic wings off (saving them as cool bits for decorations on a later project) and glued the skull in place of the blood drop. I think it will look good once painted, like a twisted Hell's Angels logo.
I also need to paint and attach the pintle heavy stubber, from the new vehicle sprue.
