For the campaign game this weekend, I'll be facing a Space Marine force. My Tau opponent has alot of games to play this round (being the current top player on the ladder, everyone's out to humble him) and has elected a rep to stand in for one of his games against me (the other game will be a small 400 pts combat patrol battle).
The Space Marine player will most likely use the Imperial Fists traits, but he may just field a vanilla force. I'm going for a balanced, but nonetheless anti-Marine, army. Unit sizes will be adjusted accordingly to fit 1500 pts. Your advice on which units to prune first will be appreciated.
HQ
Farseer
+ Witchblade
+ Shuriken pistol
+ Fortune
TROOPS
9 Banshees (joined by Farseer)
+ Exarch
+ Executioner
10 Scorpions
+ Exarch
+ Stealth
+ Scorpion's Claw
Wave Serpent
+ TL Bright lances
+ Spirit stone
Wave Serpent
+ TL Bright lances
+ Spirit stone
10 Warp Spiders
+Exarch
+ Withdraw
FAST ATTACK
Vyper
+ Starcannon
Vyper
+ Starcannon
HEAVY SUPPORT
Falcon
+ Starcannon
+ Holofield
+ Spirit stone
I was going to give the Serpents TL starcannons and go the whole 'Marine killing starcannon army of death', but since I don't know what the Marine player will be taking, I think some anti-tank guns would be a wise precaution.
Your thoughts?
