It would be better if the genestealers were in units of 8 or 10, and the homogaunts were in units of 14 or 16.
Care to explain why ?
The plan is to tie units up with the gaunts and then actually kill things with the genestealers, who tend to come out tops in a bundle. There arent that many synapse creatures, but then again the units that really need synapse (3 gaunt broods) will be in combat most of the time and only need the synapse creatures on turn 1-2.

Probably because of Scoring Unit purposes. In a group of eight, you have to kill off five models to score Victory Points for the squad. In a group of nine, you still only have to kill off five models - no appreciable difference. I don't think it's a big deal in the case of the Hormies, but the Genestealers could do with an extra model per squad.

The Hormies and the Genestealers look spot on. I don't really like your Spinegaunts though. The just seem big and slow compared to the speed of the Hormies. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer symmetry in my armies. I would either drop the entire squad for another brood of 15 hormies, or upping the brood size of the Gargoyles. Even if you did decide to keep them, I'd bring the squad size down. 36 in a single brood is just a huge amount of gaunts to control.

The Hive Tyrant seems a bit cluttered.
Most people either go with 2 scything talons or 2 twinlinked devourers for their flying tyrants, and then either the WS or BS upgrade, toxin sacs are mandatory on both builds.

I think you're paying for upgrades the Tyrant really doesnt need. The double devourer outfit with no CC biomorphs, still leaves a Tyrant thats more than capable of killing stuff in CC, and if you want a Tyrant thats pure CC, the forget the devourer and get him an extra set of talons.

Other than that, I'm wondering if you have enough synapse, its fairly easy to kill 2 zoanthropes and a flying Tyrant doesnt last long when he's the only monstrous creature.

The tyrant has catalyst as it lets me assault units in cover and, overall, is cheaper and, imo, more effective than flesh hooks. It doesn't have a warp field, because it's not going to be shot. If it's in the open for some reason, it's dead, regardless of whether it has a warp field or not. The tyrant isn't meant to be some 'ubder-killer' unit, so it doesn't have +1 I or any of the other expensive upgrades (bar wings;)). If need be it will attack characters, but really, genestealers are imo far better at that due to their rending attacks and the fact characters hit them on 4's mos of the time!
