Howdy guys,
I'm going to be building a saim-hann army, 1000 points. THey will not be red, but orange, and I would like them to be as mounted as possible. I don't know about using wild riders and stuff, but maybe. I need help on making my army. This isn't in the list section, cause it isn't at list, I just need ideas, and comments. Here is what I am thinking so far, let me know what you think:

HQ:
Farseer on jetbike?

Elites:
Great Harlequin, or maybe some howling banshees? (banshees would be in a falcon or serpent)

Troops:
guardian defender squads inside waveserpents

Fast Attack:
jetbikes, <--- whole reason I'm playing Eldar
VYPERS!!! <--- whole reason I'm playing Eldar

Heavy support:
Falcon (duh)

so, let me know!

Do have access to the Craftworld Codex? Sounds like you do, but just incase, the orginization of this army is different. Allowed: 2 HQ, 1 Elite, 3 Troops, 6 Fast Attacks, and 1 Heavy Support. You must take 1 HQ and 2 Fast Attack.

As far as an HQ choice goes, the Farseer on a jetbike sounds like a good idea, especially since he can be joined by Warlocks on jetbikes.

As for the elite selection, I would use what ever works best for your style of play.

The Fast Attack choices are a no brainer and you have that covered.

Your Heavy Support selection aslo looks good.

I was thinking also, could I just have a standard force organization, without doing a craftworld, and say they were pirates, just not touched by the warp? That would make them essentially dark eldar, but not.... Yeah.... What I want to do, basically, is use dark eldar miniatures, instead of eldar ones, but have them be an eldar army. Not all of them of course, but instead of gaurdians, use warriors? they look similar, but not exact. And then, for jetbikes, could I switch those out? I dunno... the regular Eldar are kinda bubbly for me, I like the more angled look of Dark Eldar, but they suck so bad....

Excuse me, did you just say dark eldar suck so bad? Say that to my 6 strength 5 power weapon attacks with reroll misses and a 2+ invunerable. Say that to my 100 point vehicle with more fire power than a predator ahniahlator and my entire squad of WS 5, I 5 Str 4 Power weapon totting guys with power armour too!

Anyway, for your elites, I think you shouyld have fire dragons, or even better, wraithguard. This is so you don't have to waste many of your precious vypers on brightlances that'll never hit with their BS 3.

Incubi suck balls. Ravagers suck balls. When a pair of carnifexes can take down 2 of your tanks in one turn, and foil your whole army, they suck. I don't care how much damage they can do if used correctly, they just suck 90% of the time.

No army suck IMO. They all have some good and some bad part. If you cant see that, well then I dont really know what to say. I might say you are stupid but that I don’t really know for sure...

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

If you're careless (and given DE skimmers are much more manueverable than Carnifexes it certainly sounds like you were), a pair of carnifexes can take down 2 of any tank in 1 turn.

I don't care how much damage they can do if used correctly, they just suck 90% of the time.
It's funny, most of the people I've talked to have always said "In the hands of a Noob, DE will die horribly. In the hands of an experienced DE player, they're almost unbeatable."

I am not sure why anyone would ever put a squad of defenders in a waveserpent....thats just a waste. You gotta put something more worth it in them be it a storm guardian squad or aspects....but no, not guardians.

Guardians IMO are only good with platforms...and platforms can't be transported.

Also if you want everything as skimmers just use the Saim Hann craftworld army, it was made for that reason.

Ok, if you guys feel like making a DE army, and coming all the way down to Texas, I will beat the shizz out of it with my ravenwing. They are only good if your opponent isn't good. Otherwise, you just have to know how to shoot them.

You should re-read what you wrote. they are just arguing their points because you made such an extreme statement about DE. Maybe these guys can help you out with DE strats if you can't beat a certain army, thats half the fun of playing.

No need to be come a big baby about it. Just argue your point if you think your so right on the money, Or just stick to the question you were asking...I mean you did want tips right?

Man...

Any way one bad thing I can say about DE is that they don’t have a appearance that suits me... But that is my just opinion.

What? You serious? Dang man.... I'm giong to use dark eldar warriors as my gaurdians, after I do some weapon swaping... I love the Dark Eldar look, that is why I was going to play them. Yes, I do want tips, and I know I have a large tendency to be a jerkoff, but it is commonly confused with my cynical point of view. I'm relatively positive that the mods are already mad at me here, so I didn't want to you know... get angry or something.

Yeah, But I don't want to do a craftworld, I want to have my own unique force. I'm going to do some fluff I think, for an eldar force, that was exiled from their craftworld. They just developed pirateing techniques, but were not touched by the warp, like Dark eldar. so, i can be pirates, without being evil and satanic, and tourturing everything I see.

For my force, I'm thinking about aiming at 1500 points. I wanted to have my farseer and 4 jetbike warlocks, all with singing spears, as an HQ. For elites, I would have 2 10 (wo)man banshee squads, in wave serpents, and 1 10 man fire dragon squad in wave serpents. For troops, i would have 2 5 man dire avenger squads, inside of my 2 heavy support falcon grav tanks, with holofield and spirit stone. That would give me in total, 20 banshees, 10 fire dragons, 10 dire avengers, 3 wave serpents, 5 jetbikes, and 2 falcons. A piratical force, if you ask me. I didn't want to include a wraithlord, they seemed kinda .... wierd, and non-piratical. OH wait!! I forgot Vypers.... yeah 3 vypers, independent fast attack choices, with starcannons.

what do you think?

I haven't gotten around to that yet, but yeah, now that I look at it... OK, what can I cut out to have a 1500 functional list, and then a 1000 functinoal list?
