I play a pure GK army. I like the challenge of it myself. Basically being outnumbered all the time and with few AP 2 or 1 weapons out for the army itself makes playing pure GK very difficult but not impossible. Basically every model that I gets taken out is a serious blow to the army. There are only 44 models in an 1850 list and thats not using more then 4 terminators. If you can work well with small squads then playing pure GK will be easier then if you like playing with horde armies.
I Will Run a Pure GK army (List) and as you can see by my list, I aimed for as many full squads as I could fit, you also see 3 squads in the FA selections, not for DSing mind you, I did it so I could place overhalf my troops after the enemy has placed most of his.
Theres a challenge playing pure GKs, I for one will enjoy the challenge.
I would also like to think that the fact that all of mine are orange makes them stand out too.
I play pure, the only difference between mine and the "orange" above is that mine aren't...well....orange....I paint traditional colours but also use a Grey Knight LRC, terminators, and less dreadnoughts...yes it's tough but the being outnumbered you get use to, and it's fun...that's the most important thing

I play pure GK, with only the occasional shooty =I= & retinue. I find that GK are much more survivable than ISTs, as well are doing much more damage (unless the IST bring Chimeras). I also, personally, like the look and concept of a pure GK force. It has its drawbacks. I take minimal GKT (only as a retinue for GM) and try to get as many PAGK (troops and FA) as I can. I throw in a LR/LRC and a couple dreads for AT support, occasionally using an OS for fun.
Honestly, playing pure GK I really need to add... PAGK PAGK PAGK. It may be a boring monotonous list to have just PAGK. You don't get neat fancy gizmo trick squads that specialize in one thing. By trying to add those, you lose you best asset. Versitility. Take as many PAGK as you can, with a few AT assets and your army will play better. This is especially true at games < 1500 points.
I like to play a pure GK, with the exception that I love my Callidus and Inquisitor.
Depending on the points, I take one small PAGK with two Psycannons, A full squad of ten walking PAGK. BC and retinue, or in 1500+ games Grandmaster and retinue. As many full squad of 10 FAGK as points will allow, and then a Dread or two.
Seriously though, moving other people's troops around really gives that warm fuzzy feeling. She's definitely worth it, esp. in higher point games, and having to take an Inq, just gives you another gun on the table.
