Since the TM is an independant character can he lead a command squad or another unit rather then just a squad of 0-4 servitors? I didn't see anything in the SM codex saying he couldn't but just wanted to clarify.

Thanks

I dont see why he can't, he does follow the rules for IC's when not given a unit of servitors. (Which we will be hearing members asking why he doesnt have them shortly...8))

He does not have the option to take a command squad, however he CAN be attached to any other squad as per IC rules so long as he doesnt have a retinue of servitors.

But remember, since he is an IC, he cant ride in a drop pod with another unit.

Only charactors with command squads may drop pod with their units, and since he cant have command squads and he cant infiltrate, it might be difficult to get him to where you want him.

Good Luck though. (your probably better off with a cheap captain with the simplest of load outs, frags, powerd sword, 1 bolt pistol. Runs you only a few more points over a techmarine, but you hit with 3+ instead of 4+ and you get another attack. Peace

Lead another squad? NO. Join another squad? Yes. As per the C:SM the only squad he can lead is a squad of servitors. IMHO thats not the best use for him. I personnally advocate either taking base techmarine and putting him with your Dev's to reroll that missed heavy weapon shot, or kitting him with a Servo-harness and boltpistol and adding him to a CC squad in a LRC. I briefly toyed with the Idea of taking him with a boltpistol and bike to join the Bike squad.
