As the title says, what is the best deal you've gotten on models (second-hand or new)? I just got one for 60 dollars that included a dreadnought, 5 termies, 20 tacts, 10 assault, and a command squad. Include the book and 14 paints. Total 340 dollars (16 cents on the dollar). Can you be that?

That's cool, but your 13, so someone was probably helping you, or you stole them (I am guessing thats not the case). If I came off sounding like a ****, sorry. I am interest mainly in the money people spent and the models gotten.

I'll let that past, I'll consider it that your inner child is throwing a tantrum bcuz he never got such a deal, also i started warhammer when i was 6years old tbh, so some1 giving me this now to help me get started when i have 3000pts of guard seems stupid.

Pressed enter too soon, edit :

Okay £3 for a chaos dreadnaught khorne lord guy on juggernaut and 12 marines(chaos)

Well, after a confusing array of trading and money going places, I somehow lost my High Elves, gained $150, and three boxes of Skinks appeared. I remember paying for one. XD

Good deal! :p

I once swapped a Tau drone, a spare coupla hatch, and some chaos close combat weapons for 6 Khorne Bezerkers, most of which I could prise apart and convert into some SM veterans. (I recycle almost every old model that I can pull apart into somthing useful, unless its was somthing really old and out of production...)
Another time, I scavanged lots of purtiy seals, bolt pistol arms and chainsword arms and whatnot (which I put to use in my veteran sqaud) for absolotley free, and I netted a missile launcher too. ^_^
I am well known at my local GW for scavenging and recyling bits. :shifty:

That reply was completely neutral my friend, I serious about the money for models part, there one would know how much you got. So no need to get nasty.

Also, a past deal I got was actually a rip off now that I think of it was 10 CSM and 2 Oblits for 40 dollars, its a okay deal and I had just started, but they guys had to much paint on them. Had to whip it out... my wire brush that is.

eBay is my buddy too. I was thinking about this, since we are will to play such little money for such a large amount models, I think GWs should lower there prices, I mean, we would by so much for more. How hard is it to make little figures?

Go figure. I just started using ebay for GW stuff, it really is a neat with how much stuff you can find. Also even if we buy stuff from Ebay, GW still makes a profit. Someone had to buy the models at some point. Unless of course they stole them.

I have posted my story in several places here, but I traded a large box of the new painted D&D figures to a friend for all of his mostly-unassembled 40K models (no books or Codex included). Not sure how many minis I had, or how much I spent on them, but he wanted them much more than I did, as I was beginning to feel the pull of the modeling and painting aspects of the game after I purchased the 3rd Edition Box set and 1 Dark Eldar Raider.

My inventory is something like:

Space Marines

Dark Angels

HQ:
Command Squad Box (Apoth, Tech, Standard, Etc)
Captain
Chaplain (can add Jet Pack)
Chaplain on Bike
I also have about 10 metal Veterans in DA Robes, including another Standard and 2 plasma pistol-toting serges (Command Squad?)

Elites:
Dread with Combi-CCW and Storm Bolter
Dread with magnetic switchable armament (Lascanons and Launcher, or CCW and Storm Bolter - depending on need)

Troops:
Many, many Tac squads. Maybe as much as 100 guys. (I have 4 extra Power Fist arms for Serges)(many models unassambled)
10 Scouts 4 sniper rifles, missle launcher, Heavy Bolter, and shotguns/bolters (unassambled)

Fast Attack:
5 Man Assault Squad and Assault Serge w/ powerfist
3 Land Speeders with magnetic detatchable Assault Cannons
8 or so Bikes
1 Assault Bike - Bolter configuration

Heavies:
Land Raider
2 Pred Ann.
1 Pred Dest.
Whirlwind
Dev Squad Box and extra Plasma Canon Marine (unassembled)

Transports:
2 Rhinos
Razorback (switchable tops)

Chaos

Lord
Sorcerer
Standard Bearer
Fabius Bile
5 Enhansed Marines
32 CSM
8 Termies
10 Plague Guard
8 Berzerkers
1 Predator
[Edit; oops, forgot 6 Raptors]

Dark Eldar

Archon
3 or so Haemonculi
8 Incubi
5 Raiders
5 Jet Bikes
1 Ravager
1 Box Wyches
Many, many Warriors

Nids

Tyrant
Carnifex
3 Warriors
2 Raveners
1 Biovore and lots of mines
2 Lictors
Many, many Stealers and Gaunts
Loads of Nid-like terrain bits (home-made digestion pools, Capplilery Towers, Custom Hive Mind Infestation Markers, plus the Macragge markers and Hive Node, etc)

Necrons

1 Lord
2 Boxes of Warriors
(these are going up in the trade section soon)

=][=

Vindicare Assassin

Some I have purchaesed since the trade, but not a lot. All for some miniatures I had lost interest in, now I have hours of entertainment modeling, and some nice looking armies I may actually use for something other than fillling a box and checking off a checklist.

they come from people getting out of the game or large suppliers. your point? most stores where take a higher inventory if more people brought stuff, aka bulk order.

£38 for any battle force i want whenever i want.

£25 for a landraider (£30 for LRC)

£18 for plastic dreadnought

All brand new.
DWHS or whatever?

You know, sometimes I wish I was an internet dealer wiht low prices. I could also buy my own stuff for wholesale prices...

But if GW did lower prices, they would see a massive sudden spike in their stock, as every player there ever was that still breathes air and is not mentally retarded(and I mean that in the best possible way) will rush into their nearest store and buy several thousands of dollars worth of stuff in fear that GW will again raise prices in the next few weeks...
