I'm an ex-tau player and I have a lot of spare burst cannons lying around, I was woundering if a burst cannon is the right size to be converted to an assault cannon.:shifty:
Also on a side note, does anyone have any ideas about converting imperial guardsmen into Inquizatorial stormtroopers to be led by a priest in power armour with a power weapon and a plasma gun.
The burst cannon, I think, is a bit too big and dosn't have enough barrels.
For the guards men, not sure really, i know FW do inquesition embelems, but i think there tank upgrades so wouldn't fit, but you could check it out.
I think a burst cannon could look pretty cool and considering the assault cannon fires 4 shots and the burst cannon has 4 barrels, it could in theory work.
I think it could work in principle, though it would take some conversion. I don't think I'd use it straight, since the burst cannon is an easily recognizable weapon.
I agree with theyak; the burst cannon is has quite a unique look and so a straight use of the part would be a little odd. Maybe you could use two burst cannon, cutting the barrels out of one and adding them to the other, so you end up with an 8-barrelled gun. Add to this an ammo belt of some kind and you should have a conversion that looks different enough from the current burst cannon to work.
You could also do some work on the muzzle - another good way to make it look different to the uncoverted burst cannon. Hope this helps.
For conversions purposes i ended up making a battle suit with something similar to what RP said. It has dual burst cannons and a piece of plasticard over the top to make it look like the Heavy Arms from Gundam Wing lol.
If I were you I'd just get a load of plastic rods and carefully stick them in plae to, say, double the number of barrels.
And GS it to look more Imperial (i.e armour plating)
