Here they are at last, after 4 months sittin on a shelf!

Nothing wrong with the pictures themselves, other than they are too wide. If you can resize them to 600px wide they'll be fine. But the links work well enough for now. - KU

edit: hope thats ok now, cheers

Hope u guys enjoy, they were great fun to paint!

Cheers in advance,
Zezza

Great conversions, and the powerfists look cool. The black looks good, but it is hard to highlight black, and it lacks...something. Still, overall great and original minis!

Really awesome! I love the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus/Black Legion fluff (then again, I love pretty much all fluff). Fantastic models, great concept, but shouldn't the pre=heresy Abbadon (am I correct in assuming thats actually Abbadon and you're not just using his head?) be more ornate and the armor more embellished? Oh well, still looks great, can't wait to see more!

Awseome job. What did you use for all the shoulder pads, i have seen the ones on abaddon before but i have no clue where they came from. Are the other ones custom made or are they bitz from somewhere too?

They seem to be the ones from Witch Hunter Tyrus from Inquisitor.

Are these based on the Horus Heresy books? They look very cool and the studs on the helmets add to the pre-heresy look nicely.

Welll, as gaming quality models, amazing, absolutely stunning.

However I do have a few criticisms. I feel the powerfists could be more "blue", they just arent bold enough for me, and the bulletholes for example, although good, They just dont attract attention. Also on first glance I noticed on abbadon's left arm a nesty moldline running up the inside. Not so sure the jungle tree fits with the basing theme either....

As for the lightsourcing, very good on abbadon, but too inconsistent for me on the placing of the blue highlights on the rest of them. The color just doesnt stand out well against the black either, again, more blue would be nicer.

Brilliant modelling however, really like the conversions. Sorry if the constructive criticism is a bit harsh, but im only trying to point out some tips for the future.

If he had added any more blue, it would have been overwhelming. Its just the tree thing that I agree on. I don't see abbadons mould line, but I do see it on the autocannon. Too late though, and it doesn't distract me from the model at all.

First off, picture size is much better. -__^

Otherwise, they look great. Nice and cleanly done, the OSL is great too. Though might have looked a bit better if you have extended the glow a little bit further than a small spot, but that's only a minor point. Otherwise, I agree about the black. It many places it looks very bland and flat, something is missing but then it is a difficult colour to highlight well.

I really love them overall (painting and fluff), here are a few specifics:

Love:
- The power weapon glow! I see it on Rakham all the time and have wished it would transfer over to 40k since I saw it
- The flesh! I suck at flesh so much I'm so jealous

Hate:
- The tree. 'Nuff said. :D

Cheers for the comments guys, makes it all worthwhile without soundin too cheesy! The shoulderpads are cut from a plastic colouring pen, chopped up into rings then cut into curves from that. Reasoning is that i couldnt get plasticard to stay properly curled!

Took a wee bit of time gettin the lighting, but its good practice. Hopefully a few more attempts on other models and ill have it nailed, And about the tree, im not all that convinced myself, but it would be too much effort to remove it now.

Much thanks again guys, any more Q's ill be happy to answer. Also is there anyone from around glasgow in scotland who plays, just im tryin to get a few more folk comin to my club.

Next project shall be a FW dread, painted in standard grey colours methinks.

Beautiful paint job man, I couldn't do better if I spent a long time on it. One problem fluff wise, and I'm amazed no one else caught it. The storm bolter was developed after the Horus Heresy. Before that even Terminators had combibolters, sorry to burst your bubble man.

They look great! I like the shoulders.

The only problem I have is a fluff one, in the CSM codex it says "When they were defeated in the Heresy, Abbadon the Despoiler rose to leadership and commanded that the legion repaint their armor black to mirror their shame."

Sorry

Lol yeh , i just say they are posh combi bolters, would have been too much effort to change them just enough to look like combi bolters.

I havent gamed with them yet, but i prob will at some point, just no one in my club is playin 40k ATM.

According to the fluff i researched the terminators of the 1st co were called the Justerian (i think the spelling is right) and always had black armour to distinguish them from the rest of the legion, and as a mark that Abaddon was Horus's favourite Captain. After the heresy Abaddon decided to repaint the armour of the Son Of Horus to all black, rather than just the termies, and to change thier name befittingly.

Im pretty sure this fluff is acurrate, and it doesnt really go against what was said in CSM, just expands on it.

Cheers again for the comments/crit guys, appreciated!!

GRRRRR I am hating my computer at work. I spend 12 hours a day here, and it is the only real time I get to view the internet. That wouldn't be a problem if I could view photobucket pictures on it.

But I can't, so I can't marvel at the art you have wowed so many others with here..
