first 1500pt Blood Angel tourny list - need help - Revised

Ok, need help. This is my first 1500pt Blood Angel list that im getting ready for a tourny soon. Any help for the list or tactics would be really appreciated. thanks.

HQ -
Chaplain - crozius arcanum, rosarius, jump pack, artificer armor, frags, terminator honors, master-crafted
Death Company - jump packs

Troops -
4 Blood Angel Scouts - bolters
Sergeant - bolter, terminator honors
4 Blood Angel Scouts - bolters
Sergeant - bolter, terminator honors
4 Scouts - 3 bolters, heavy bolter
Sergeant - bolter, terminator honors
7x Tactical Squad - 6 bolt pistols & CCWs, Flamer, frags
Sergeant - bolt pistol, power weapon, frags, terminator honors
Rhino - smoke launchers, extra armor

Fast -
2x Landspeeders - 2 assualt cannons, 2 heavy bolters
7x Assualt Squad - 5 bolt pistols & CCWs, plasma pistol & CCW, Flamer, frags, melta-bombs
Sergeant - bolt pistol & powerfist, frags, melta-bombs, jump pack, terminator honors

Heavies -
6x Devastator Squad - 3 x bolters, 3 x plasma cannons
Baal Predator - TL assualt cannons, 2 heavy bolters

Death Company - jump packs
WAY WAY to much wargear. Artificer armor is a total waste of points, as is master crafted on a chaplain. Remember, you can't re-roll a re-roll. No matter what. And the chaplain already gets to re-roll all his misses first round. So the master crafted is only useful if he is charged (not likely if you use him right) or in the 2nd round of combat (not likely if you use him right)

4 Blood Angel Scouts - bolters

This is horrible, and will totally destroy your comp and sportsmanship scores at a tournament. You want 1 possibly 2 scout squads, of at least 8 men each, and give them each a power fisted sergeant. I understand you're trying to maximize your death company, but this cheese will ruin your soft scores and you will have no hope of winning. Plus, BA scouts are awesome anyway, and you have made them useless, just to try and get a better Death Company. Yes…the Death Company is nice but you need more to win games.

7x Tactical Squad - 6 bolt pistols & CCWs, Flamer, frags
Sergeant - bolt pistol, power weapon, frags, terminator honors
Rhino - smoke launchers, extra armor
With so little armor on the table, this Rhino is not likely to last very long.

2x Landspeeders - 2 assualt cannons, 2 heavy bolters
Make sure these are in separate FOC slots

7x Assualt Squad - 5 bolt pistols & CCWs, plasma pistol & CCW, Flamer, frags, melta-bombs
Sergeant - bolt pistol & powerfist, frags, melta-bombs, jump pack, terminator honors
Save some points and drop the melta bombs. These guys should be assaulting troops not tanks.

6x Devastator Squad - 3 x bolters, 3 x plasma cannons
WAY to expensive, and way to inefficient. First off, plasma cannons for BA are not a good choice. You NEED more anti-tank weapons, and a plasma cannon is not good for this. Plus, if you rage, you can not fire them at all. AND, plasma cannons are just too damn expensive in a Dev squad.

Baal Predator - TL assualt cannons, 2 heavy bolters
This is good.

In closing…you need more anti tank, and you need to not worry so much about your Death Company. Drop the 3rd unit of scouts to beef up the other 2. 8 men with PF sergeant. Drop the Dev squad for some 6 men lascannon squads. And I would probably recommend dropping the Rhino squad for either another assault squad or another Baal.

ok, good suggestions, thanks. i will make some changes to it and repost it, but please, any more critiques are welcome! I will get back shortly with an updated list.

Drop the flamers on these. They are normally no good on footsloggers. Plasma rifles would serve you better here.

Other than that it works.

yeah, the frags and flames for them i did second guess, this just confirms it. the change has been made. Thanks! problem now is, i have 5 points extra, i hate that, its not really enough to get anything, but it's too many points to just ignore, i hate when this happens

With 5 extra points, give your chaplain either a Melta bomb, or Bionics. I would probably go with Melta bombs, as personally whenever I have extra points, and I give somebody bionics I ALWAYS forget to use it.

I just want to specifiy that normally you want to be assaulting troops with an assualt squad, not tanks, but if you have 5 points left over, giveing Melta Bombs to your chaplain, for a "well, what if...." scenario is a good idea.

At least 8 scouts per squad. This is a close combat unit which is infiltrating, all guns will be on them - and maybe the death company. So they need numbers to help get the powerfist hitting.
8x Tactical Squad - 7x bolters, melta, frags
Sergeant - BP & PF, frags, term honors
This squad is useless, far to slow. Id drop it all together. Use assault squads, and scouts + death company, to assault.

5x Tactical Squad - 3x bolters, lascan, flamer, frags
Sergeant - BP, PW, frags, term honors
5x Tactical Squad - 3x bolters, lascan, flamer, frags

Why do you have a flamer? or powerweapon?

Instead get 5 man squads, with lascannon, veteran sergeant, with auspex.

I suggest using 3 of them.

I would drop one of these, and pick up a second assault squad.

I suggest using another baal.

If you have points left over, maybe another squad of tactical marines, or scouts.

Remember you get to know the opponent before rolling your death company. Some armies you'll want pure power fists against, such as nids, or imperial guard. While against marines you may want dual power weapons. Of course the safest bet is a mixture.

So just make sure you have enough death company models to represent what you'd like to have.
