Hey guys, im only just starting chaos, and id appreciate any hints or tips or tactics for building an army of khorne, and wat things i should buy for about a 1500 point army. My main opponents are dark eldar and eldar. My eldar opponent has a wide range of aspect warriors, a squad of each im pretty sure, an avatar, a few tanks, and rangers and my dark eldar opponant has all units in transports, and moves very fast around the field. I want my force to have a decent amount of troops. im not too sure about rhinos, my opponents will destroy them in the first few turns, plus if they get blood frenzy they have to disembark anyways. any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks

Unfortunately, Dark Eldar are particularly rough for chaos c.c. armies. You'll need to have ways of managing their massive numbers of troops at range. Predators are your best bet (autocannon hull/heavy bolter sponsons).

Against Eldar, you'll need solid tank busting capability. Again, your best option is the predator (autocannon hull/lascannon sponsons).

Both your primary troop choices are solid c.c units. Pick up at least three berzerker squads. Bloodletters, as well, are very good units, albeit expensive, they really tear into other marine armies and necron. Experiment with letters prior to buying them, as they are expensive models (financially & point wise).

Bikers are very effective, but usually a little too expensive to include in a general build. They're best reserved for fun games and specialized games.

For h.q. choices, the chaos lord will always serve you well. My preference is the non-statured daemon prince mounted on a bike with a darkblade. He's highly versatile, not subject to blood frenzy (usually a good thing for your h.q.), and moderately priced. You can kit him out with additional upgrades, such as feel no pain and the likes.

The statured prince is also an acceptable choice, but prone to being fodder for incoming enemy ranged fire. That said, a statured h.q. can also help redirect fire from your predators.

These are the primary options that work well in most W.E. builds. Hope this helps.

Just so you know, you probably won't get many responses after Rabbit's as he's nailed just about everything bang on the head.

The only other thing I'd suggest is going to the army list forum and reading through other 1500 Khornate forces and see how you go.

Remember, you don't have to do a pure WE force either. Khornate heavy black legion is a really good force too :)

This is probably your best bet, as you get access to obliterators, havoc squads & small tactical plasma gun support squads (as well as a whole lot more). I think you'll find that a Black Legion build with a Khorne emphasis more than compensates for losing the favored number advantage of the World Eaters.

Not in the habit to argue with the almighty Rabbit but... (there is always one of those)
mmm he really did nail the lot of it, didn't he?

You thinking demonbombing or a little more non-specialized?

at 1500 I would bring 2 preds one with TL las and hvy bolters the other with AC and lascannon sponsons.
maybe 2 squads of khorne berzerkers
a bike squad
a bloodthirster and a statured lord kitted as a bloodthirster
and 2 squads of bloodletters
+ random infantry

but thats just me
