I'm thinking of starting a Black Templar army with some inducted grey knights.
I've heard that they are a decent CC army but how much better/worse are they than Blood Angels?

Since I play BT of these armies, i shine some light on what they can do.

BLACK TEMPLARS:

Advantages: Can have 20 men in a standard squad, fearless in cc, Emperors Champion doesn't take an HQ slot, can take vows to improve there cc abilities, LRC can be there transports instead of heavy, and move D6 towards there enemy instead of falling back if they take a casuality from shooting.

Disadvantages: marines are 16 points apiece, cant get devestators, whirlwinds, or scouts and veteran sergeants, and have to make moral checks in order to move D6 towards the enemy and have to move if they take a casuailty and pass leadership.

Overall: The BT are an army that is really good at cc, have good hard-hitting units but do not have a lot of firepower and there armies are more expensive then most marine armies.

hope this helps .

okay well i will just say both are very cc oriented

BT
like said above have large squads sizes and imporved movement when taking casulties althoug limited fire power.

Blood Angels
the thing these marines are most known for is there deathh company mainres with fell no pain and multiple attacks (they are also going to gain rending) The army is going to be gaining a lot of new sutff as they are getting new rules in june.

Advice: wait until the new army list for BA comes out, in about June or July. Until then, go ahead and collect generics, like Marines or Scout models, and just don't paint them.

Templars have a new codex.. But you're paying 20dollars for Codex: Space Marines more or less

It's a fairly worthless codex in terms of content since 99% of it a copy of the marine codex

Take your marine codex.. Add in stuff from 3rd edition book and there you go.. Oh yeah, and dont forget the overcost sword brethren. That's about it

But change the way vows work, the way the emperor's champion works and the units they can take (which is different in the new book). Oh, and most of the special rules have changed, too.

So if you want to play Black Templars, you'll want the black templars codex. It is a bit more than Codex: Black Marines...
