once i robbed a bank and start finishing my vostroyan army:

Hell yeah i'm getting me a BB!

It'll be my "i-declare-victory-unit" : all i have to do i place it on the table during deployement phase, say "i declare victory!" and pack my stuff up again! I'll be invincible!

Yeah, you'll be invincible... until my reaver titan comes and stomps on your arse, and my swarm of nurglings plants a vortex grenade on the engine.:O Muh hu ha ha ha.

I'm so getting one! Turn it into a chaos bane blade. Or better yet, convert it into a storm blade!:w00t:

Will I use a Baneblade? Nope, I run a fluffy light infantry list. There's no place there for a Baneblade.

Is that going to stop me from getting a lovely new display piece? Nope, it's a big tank o' doom. It will sit proudly upon my dresser.

Ouch dude! I know where you are coming from, seeing as my skitarii are mostly infantry. But I want to play 3000+ point games, and there ain't nothing better than adding another 1.5k to your army purely in baneblade power. (Yes, I will be running 3 of the things).

That is, it's certainly easier than painting (and converting) another 200 men!

.....maybe i'll do both.....

Obviously until the rules come out (including the new super-heavy rules) we won't know what it will be like on the table. However, I think I will join almost everyone in saying 'yes, of course I will buy one - it's a Baneblade!'.

From what we've seen of it so far I think it would make a great centrepeice for a Guard army.

Where are the rules on that thing? The Apocalypse codex? ... Can it be used in 1500 point games? Or 3,000+ only? ... I'm pretty sure that the Baneblade will not be an option for LatD, if thats what you mean by traitor guard. You cannot take a demolisher. LatD is more Chaos oriented anyways.
Nobody knows any specific details yet (or at least nobody I have had the good fortune to talk to), new rules for Super-Heavy vehicles will also be included in Apocalypse so it's also unknown whether the 3000+ rule is still in existence.

It looks like it will however be available to a variety of armies (Guard, Chaos and Orks certainly) LatD is unclear because it's an old ruleset now, however it is available to Chaos so I don't see why not, after all, they get other tanks.

Well, I've heard rumours that you can figure out your own allies list with apocalypse, so I would see LatD using a baneblade (or 4) as a distinct possibility.

Just stirring the rumour pot...

Well i be playing a Baneblade i will not. I play a mostly infantry defence force the only tanks i take are artillary like the Basalisk. I will not buy one to paint seeing as i dont believe in getting one that i will only sit and look at.

I believe The LaTD will get a Baneblade because if nurgle gets one they should get one.

ive been wondering about the armour value my self, and ive heard a few figures around my local store, the chat is it will either be AV 15-16, most likely 15,
The forgeworld Baneblade has the same armour values as a leman russ demolisher, with +1 to it's rear. Rumours say that if you don't take the optional sponsoons you could upgrade +1 to your side aswell. I doubt AV15 though, they'd rather give it more structure points to increase it's damage taking capabilities instead.

I'm sorry to hijack this thread but I have a Q, Will u be able to use apocalipse miniatures in standard WH40K, like in tournaments and stuff? From what everyones saying I guess you can but my understanding was that some of the appocalipse rules may clash with the 40K ones.

I dont know.
Any help appriciated,
Scott

Apocalypse miniatures? If you're refering to the Baneblade then it's already got a set of rules in Imperial Armour volume 1.
