ARMY LIST CAVEATS
I'm not sure if I made the right choices for magic items, nor if I'm sure if those are legally correct (i.e. if the Tomb King has scorpion armor, can he take light armor).

I'd like to say that both lists are balanced and can take all comers, but if you disagree please let me know.

I would have liked to take another chariot unit, but I prefer to have units that back-up each other in case something goes wrong. If you can think of a way to field that second chariot unit, let me know.

For the 1500 list:
The prince on chariot can be good, though he could do with a better save, being your general he deserves it. Im not a fan of the chariot of fire, the points could be spent better elsewhere, but add the collar onto him to for a decent save, and possibly loose the GW for a spear and shield.
The priests are fine, as are the Catapult and Scorps.
Loose the champions from the skellie units, and boost the archer unit up to 20, or make 2 units of 10.
Loose a chariot from the unit, with a prince in there too the unit may be a bit wide to use effectively. Add a standard and the banner of undying legion, good as there is a prince in there too.

For the 2K list:
The king cannot have (heavy) magic armour and light (mundane) armour. Loose the Scorpion armour anyway, it assumes that hem and his unit will be loosing combat, and if you assume that then you are already well on your way to loosing. Possibly give him armour of the ages instead, and then the spear of antarhak, and the collar of shapesh for the save.
It will be a very good idea to fill your character choices, either another prince in chariot (therefore another chariot unit as a core choice for him to join aswell) or a third priest at a casket of souls. (though the 2 catapults are amazing)
Same things for the skellies and chariots as above, split the archers and loose chariot/add banner. Also the other chariot unit if you have a prince too.
Apart from that, the Special and Rare choices are looking good.

(P.S for the second chariot unit in the 2K army, best bet is to drop the archers. Then 3 chariots for the possible prince to join is your best bet i think)

List Caveats
In my 1500 point list, I was considering of keeping the Liche Priest with the archers in hopes I could make my hierophant last longer. So I chose to keep the skeleton archers together.

In my 2000 point list, I'd have the Tomb Prince with the Chariot unit. I had to remove the archers in order to up the hero/lord and give them proper magic items. By doing this however, I was stuck with about 60-70 points which I didn't know how to use. In addition with magic limitations @ 100 points, I couldn't get a good magic weapon for the Tomb King (because of the armor and talisman I purchased). So, I just upped the numbers of the skeleton CC squads to 24 a piece. I'd be more than willing to add a magic item to another unit, if you think it was a good idea.

I also was slightly conflicted with fielding 1 tomb prince vs. a third liche priest. I'd appreciate any comments on this as well.

As always, my sincere thanks for anyone that's taking the time to read and reply to this post and helping this rookie tomb...um jester.

Just one thing about the 2K list, both the king and prince have a collar, and you can only take 1 of each magic item (except scrolls).
Keep it on the king, and now he is on foot give him a Great Weapon again, he is able to dish out far more damage that way. Also gve him Vambraces of the Sun.
As for the Prince, put the spear of antarhak on him, and an enchanted shield, he still gets a decent save and some healing power, also supported by the banner in the chariot unit, which im assuming you have Undying legion, as its not stated but the points are there.
If you are really concerned about magic, not having that third priest, then get a Casket of Souls for the non-hierophant, it adds a lot to the TK magic phase. You will need to loose a SSC for it, and then the champions an the King's Armour of Ages can go.

List Caveats
Most of my comments/problems are based on this issue, along with the spare 6 points I currently have left to spend.

While making this list, I got caught in this weird dilemma. I know you can only field a Tomb King in 2000+ points. However, I can't get to 2000 points unless I go over this limit. Although I don't expect this to be a problem with friends, I'm curious to know how I need to do address this if I ever went to a GW sponsored tournament.

I chose the Great Weapon for the Tomb King, but I wasn't sure if it would be better to get an enchanted weapon (such as biting blade).

Finally, as it seems like this list is pretty close to being competitive, I'd like to know how to deploy certain units (i.e. the Hierophant). I've read the tactics section in the Codex, but I'm curious to know if I can use any of them with this list. I realize that this question will eventually need to be fielded in another thread, but I thought I'd ask now.

Ahh your problem there is that you are taking the 2000point limit to literally. Basically you can field a lord in a 2K game, but your army can be total equal or less than 2000points. (Check your Tomb King army book, page 40, under 'Choosing an Army')

As for tactics, this is a mainly defensive list (similiar to mine, but that was bound to happen with me advising you)
Basicaly your defense is centered around the casket and SSC, and trying to kill key enemy units as they advance, then charging their weakened formation with your combat troops when they get close.
The scorpions can be used for warmachine and lone character hunting, and your chariot unit is good for fast movement, flanking and taking out key enemy positions and units.
As for your hierophant, keep him alone, but make sure he is out of range/sight of the enemies missiles. Once all threats are taken care of his fly ability can give him almost free roam of the field, putting his spells where they are needed most.

Now to start collecting and practising :)
