Having been bitten by the DKoK bug and after buying some units and a macharius or two I have finnally decided on a list. I thought it would be different for a change to actually use the rules from IA5. If you have any questions about certain units or rules I'll be happy to answer them without breaking copyright laws for those who don't have access to IA5.

Company Command Platoon 231pts
-Heroic Senior officer w/power weapon, carapace armor, and refractor field, Plasma gunner, Master Vox, Ensign(standard), centaur transport w/extra armor

2 Fire Support Squads 135pts
-3 heavybolter teams, 3 autocannon teams

Anti Tank Squad 125pts
-3 lascannon teams

3 Thudd guns 210pts

3 Heavy Mortars 150pts

3 Heavy Mortars 150pts

Infantry Platoon 276pts
-Junior officer w/power weapon and carapace armor, vox caster, meltagun
-Infantry squad w/vox caster and grenade launcher
-Infantry squad w/vox caster and grenade launcher

Infantry Platoon 280pts
-Junior officer w/power weapon and carapace armor, vox caster, meltagun
-Infantry squad w/vox caster and plasmagun
-Infantry squad w/vox caster and plasmagun

Medusa Siege Gun 125pts
-Indirect fire

Leman Russ Annihilator 155pts
-Hull mounted lascannon, side sponson heavy bolters

Leman Russ Annihilator 155pts
-Hull mounted lascannon, side sponson heavy bolters

Total 1992pts

The hiege weapons will deploy out of sight and hammer the enemy to thin thin them out as much as possible before the enemy can assault. The heavy weapons teams will focus on enemy tanks and elite infantry while the LRA acts as moblie fire support. The infantry plattons deploy around the artillery to protect them from assault.

Yes I will be using the actuall DKoK models, expensive I know. Hoping to combine this army with my templars and or my friends elysians for apocalypse.

This list looks really quite good however there is one thing that I woudl change. the heavy weaposn are all out on their own and the main line squads dont really have any hitting power as such so you might be better off hiding a few of those heavy wepaons int he squads. That way they would survive longer. The extra points could go on extar armour for the annihalators or something similar.

hope tha helps

The list looks good.

I've had good success with the Medusa Siege Gun, I'm a big fan. Not so much with the Heavy Mortars.

What about a Hellhound possibly, or a 5 man grenadier squad in a Centaur? since you can mount a special weapon, you'd have a fast moving meltagun for sneaky strikes against any enemy armour that gets close?

Working off Imperial Smart's idea, you might consider moving your platoon commanders into centaurs, and adding a heavy weapon. That would turn em into a mobile heavy weapon platform that can also utilize some of the rest of your squad's firepower via open-topped vehicle goodness. Since you have a vox network, the platoon command squad leadership bubbles really aren't needed, so having them zoom around the board won't really be a problem.

Looks nice, especially since you liked my idea about the centaurs...

Just a couple suggestions: are you sure about the points cost on the autocannon fire support squad? I thought it cost a lot more. If they cost as much as I think, you'll be a bit over 2K, unfortunately. Maybe you could put the AC's in the centaurs and add a couple plasmas for some heavy infantry/light vehicle hunting. I'm not completely sure, but can't infantry still fire their weapons while riding in an open topped vehicle? If that's true, I would seriously consider putting some plasma in with your platoon command squads.

The rest looks good...wouldnt want to see your army on the other side of the table haha....

Your right about the autocannons, I didn't read it carefully but I'll put 2 autocannons in the platoon command squads. I ran out of points and room for plasma in the HQ. Your right about the transports and infantry firing.

Are you definately sure you want to roll with the Vox Cast network? From my experience of playing with Krieg (only a handful of games), I've found they tend to have a good amount of staying power anyway, with the Iron Discipline doctrine?

not sure how many points it is for a master vox and the 6 vox casters, but they could possibly be spent elsewhere? Maybe with a little snip elsewhere...a unit of DeathRiders?

Well, you have the creativity part of the army builder thats for sure. The list should be fun to use, however it might come a litle expensive pocket wise. The turret lascannons for russes, the thudd, medusa and heavy mortars will add on to a high price ($) so hope you saved up.

However overall, for 2k you have 50 platoon guardsmen. Like any IG army, I strongly think that its way too little. A 2k grenadier army will probably end up with more men than you.

Way I see it, you will have a ton of trouble facing something that can get CC units into assault quickly. Be it chaos summons, deep stricking termies, assault marines, some types of bugs, eldar/dark eldar/ork bikes and ect. You have virtualy no possible way of stopping them once they are in assault. I take it the guardsmen are yor front lines, supported by the HW teams in the back? I strongly think 40 men will not be enough to hold off the enemy long enough for your HWs and tanks to do substantial damage to his army. You have things in your army that might look cool, but at the same time giving you almost nothing back in return for the points you spend on them.

Ex:
*Centaurs, yes they might looks good but what do you get in return, a weaker razorback with 2 useless weapons.
*Than there are 2 russes, that do two things decently but do not excell in either. Why not make one plain anihilator with a turret lascannon, and the other exterminator pattern with auto and 3 HBs to maw down infantry. At least this way, they can both excell in what they are made to do.
*The autos in the JO HQs are also based on fluff more or less, an autocannon is an in betweener of a HB and a missile launcher however with pretty bad AP. How about switching one HQ to a HB, and the other to a lascannon.
*Lastly, you have 5 heavy mortars and 3 thudd guns plus the medusa, each thudd fires multiple shots. Do you really need 5 ordnance templates at 50 pts each AND the thudd cannons AND medusa? yes it sounds fluffy but it eats point after point, thus draining you of things that you could be putting those points into.

Conclusion: In my personal opinion 2 heavy mortars and centaurs arent necessary. I think it would be a much wiser decision to drop both to save pts and $ and get 2 extra infantry squads, and at the same time keep one russ as a plain anihilator with 2 LCs, one being twin. And switching the other for an exterminator to save $, not the FW one. Right now, the list is about 90% fluff based, and only 10% plan.
