I have a tournament coming up in one month time, I need to get my models ready and painted by then.. so I am hoping I could get some helps fine-toning my list.
Last time i checked, warriors were a HQ/Elites choice, not fast attack.
Consider giving your hive tyrant Adrenal Glands.
Also i would probably tool up your carnifex's to serve a more defined purpose.
A "Jack of all trades, master of none" doesnt usually work as effectivly as a carnifex with a designated job. Dakkafex's, sniperfexes, and close combat orientated carnifexs tend to be more useful.
This guy's not bad, but it's not my favorite Flyrant build (I like my Devourers). You'll need to be extra careful with him, though, because he's the only durable synapse you have.
I'm not a fan of warriors. They're quite expensive for what they do, but if you've had good luck, they'll make excellent assaulters. The only issue I see is synapse coverage: You only have four synapse creatures, and three of those are in one squad and very, very squishy (and tied for fastest things in the army with the only other Synapse creature). That means your Carnifexes will likely be unsupported by synapse, which means they're prone to instinctive behaviour.
Good, basic groups. You're a bit short on termies for my liking (I like broods of 12-16 in 1,000 points), and without extended carapace, you'll want to try to keep those Genestealers in cover until they get into close combat.
These guys are trying to do too much. General theory says: Double-ranged or double-melee, but don't mix when it comes to Tyranid Monsterous Creatures. Twin-linked Devourers or a Barbed Strangler makes an excellent back-up weapon for a Carnifex.
As a side-note, unless you plan on advancing these guys (and with a 3+ save, I don't recommend it) they're going to be out of synapse for the entire game, which means they're prone to instinctive behaviour tests (Now, they've only got about an 8.3% chance of failure, but the dice gods are fickle and I find it best not to leave things up to them). Finding a way to fit a single cheap Zoanthrope into your list might help these guys out immensely.
Nice, but if you can get 2xTL Dev's, they will be able to unleash lots of shots in the first and second round, and still charge in the second round also.
I would never take Stealers w/o EC, and i dont like Horma's but, thats personal taste. I prefer to run Spines and use the points saved for 2 troops of Stealers.
I like these. The Venoms provide round 3 rounds of shooting whilst you advance but, as HS option, I would try and get Chitin (or Carapace) on them also for extra longevity.
Not bad, a reasonably balanced list. Hope you have fun
