Salamanders Titan Home Made

I am starting to build an imperal titan (For my Salamanders army). I am using plastic card and Thin PVC piping for the legs. The legs will be backwards facing joints and in the front will be 3 plates one facing forward and 2 off the sides at an angle. Around the edge of the armor plate I am using a touch more plasticard to make a thicker edge but I can't think of how to make the riviting around the edges. Anyone have a good idea on how to make the evenly spaced rivits for the cockit, armoring, and joints?

I know how to do it but its not fun.

Basically get a pin vice (or for his sized project a dremmel tool) with a .5mm drill bit and drill holes everywhere you want a rivet. Ther get some thin platicard rod to match the hole (maybe better to get this first and then find a drill bit to match) and glue the rod into each hole. Cut it off really short at the hole and file back so its a flat rivet.

Its a long process but it means your rivets are fixed in nice and secure and wont snap off at the slightest nock. Only problem with this is if you drill a hole slightly off the spot you want its really hard to go back and fix it up. You can try filling t with putty and letting it harden then re-drilling but it'll try to re-home back to the old hole.

BTW, what kind of Titan are you making? I assume with the back-jointed legs its a Warhound of some type

I just found my parts for the 'face' of the titan. I am using an elder cockpit glass divied in half for each side and a concave middle section with a line of metal (Plasticard) between them and rivited. I am going to have 3 forward facing toes on the feet and one rear facing one.

Another way i've found of doing rivets is to buy a cheap water filter, I got mine from Tesco's or what ever US equivelant, crack it open and you've got hundreds if not thousands of tiny little balls of various sizes perfect for rivets.

Drill a dent where you want the rivet as this will give the 'ball' somewhere to stay and make it less likely to fall off. Just use a ruler and mark where you need to drill to make them even.

Monkeys way works too and i've done this in the past. It is a git though as you have to file down each rivet when you've stuck it in place.
