I am the proud new owner of a Baneblade (thanks Kevin). It is apparently "old" pattern, with hurricane bolters on each sponson, lascanons on each side and the usual mega-weaponry inbetween. Can anyone confirm that the old style Baneblade does indded have hurricane bolters on each side? :ninja:
Well this is the current baneblade, so I guess if it looks radically different (assuming it is a baneblade, not some variant) then you must have the old one.
What it does have is 3 twin-linked heavy bolters, two lascannons, a hull mounted demo cannon and finaly a mega battle cannon with a coaxal autocannon
Man, what i would give to have that in the codex, aslo it would make the guard a easier army to get into as all you need to get is a baneblade and thats more then half your army:w00t:
Yeah, the old armorcast models have a solid box for a sponson with three boltguns sticking out in different directions from each. The new rules turned those into twin-linked heavy bolters, which will require substantial converting. I feel your pain, I've got the same model that I've been meaning to get around to converting.
But I guess I can use the old pattern loadout for the baneblade esp as I dont want to convert it, and my opponents couldn't give a toss if they face a new style or old style bandblade.
Except those rules aren't legal anymore, which is kind of like saying "I'm going to use the old 2nd Ed rules for my Hellhound, so I can have a nice, suicidal exploding tank...."
Well, my opponents couldn't care less whether they faced a baneblade with hurriance sponsons or twin linked HBs. Since I don't have time to remodel it, I will just use it with hurricane bolters. After all, if a landraider crusader has sponson hurriance bolters, an old baneblade can use them as well, so long as I have my opponents agreement (which I have, as they think it is insane for me to use a baneblade anyway and they would rather I take a baneblade than another 3 Leman Russes).
